Gutted it and turned it into a modern kitchen.Very nice!! I love what you did with the wrap around cabinets and the light wood. - D - 03-26-2009 Middle Finger Wrote:Nice makeover.I second that. - Duchess - 03-26-2009 That's lovely, Ant !...I love home projects, sometimes when I turn to Cowboy and say, "Baby, I've had an idea", I see the urge to flee cross his face. - The Antagonist - 03-26-2009 Matt does the same thing.... but he winds up liking the idea once I show it to him on paper/sketch. I hate my cooktop. I should have bought a glass top electric range. I also hate the microwave above the cooktop. Next year I'm rearanging it all. Going to put the 'fridge where you see the cooktop and getting rid of the double wall oven and cooktop and put a range on that wall. The only thing we'll have to rebuild is the counter top. That was pretty easy to make anyway. We did it all custom ourselves. The cabinets on top are hung on a rail system so it's EASY to take them down without damage and put them in any order we want. Same for the bottom... they're on free standing legs. A couple of turns of a screw and we can slide out one and put it someplace else. The bathroom is on the hit list for next year after taxes. - Cynical Ninja - 03-26-2009 The Antagonist wrote: Quote:My kitchen - right after the complete renovation. The one on the left looks like the kitchen I used to have when I was living in a flat. - sally - 03-26-2009 The Antagonist Wrote:My kitchen - right after the complete renovation. I added my kitchen on to the house, that's why I don't have a back yardleft. - Duchess - 03-26-2009 Trying to get this pic posted has taken all day...I followed the advice that was given me and it still didn't work so, Sin has taken pity on me & is helping ...I hope my abject failure wasn't some kinda sign from above. - Middle Finger - 03-26-2009 Very nice, Duch! You'll be making me a homemade chicken pot pie in there one day. Serving wine, at least ... - SyberBitch - 03-26-2009 Duchess Wrote:Trying to get this pic posted has taken all day...I followed the advice that was given me and it still didn't work so, Sin has taken pity on me & is helping ...I hope my abject failure wasn't some kinda sign from above.Very nice!! =D I so wish that I had a kitchen with an island in it. - Duchess - 03-26-2009 Middle Finger Wrote:Very nice, Duch! You'll be making me a homemade chicken pot pie in there one day.If I ever find you standing in my kitchen I'll be doing a lot more than serving you wine. - The Antagonist - 03-26-2009 Bitch.... 3 or more of my kitchens can fit inside yours! It's gorgeous. The meals I can make in there!!!! OP, our house is over 50 years old. They NEVER improved on it from day one. Kitchen and living room and hallway renovations have been a nightmare! They lived like filthy animals in here and we found things buried under layers of flooring that you can't even imagine. The before photo is the original kitchen. It's small and you can't stand in one area to get a good view of it all and my back is toward the eating area, I'm up against the wall taking that. I live in a community by the beach and all the houses here are tiny summer cottages. At least that was the intent when the community was built. I don't know if I want to stay here and expand the house or just keep it as it is and move out of state. - Duchess - 03-26-2009 Oohhhhh...EXPAND..EXPAND !...Beach community ! - SyberBitch - 03-26-2009 Agreed... beaches are AWESOME. Unless you live on one of the hurricane-type beaches. =p - sally - 03-26-2009 Beautiful kitchen Duchess. My house was also an old beachside cottage style home. I didn't like the house, but loved the location so we gutted it and added on the kitchen and master bedroom. - Sinister - 03-26-2009 Middle Finger Wrote:You'll be making me a homemade chicken pot pie in there one day. While Cowboy leans nearbyon his shotgun, I'm sure. ::lmao:: - The Antagonist - 03-26-2009 Duchess you need one of these in your kitchen: http://www.miele.com/products/models.asp?cat=5&subcat=28&menu_id=9&nav=20&snav=90&tnav=93&oT=53 We installed a home automation system in a house here that had one - I was soooo wanting one but my kitchen but I have NO place to put it, nor can I afford that. edti: click around in there... there's nicer ones! - ramseycat - 03-26-2009 sally Wrote:I LOVE your kitchen!! It's beautiful.SyberBitch Wrote:From her reaction to your post, I would have to guess that she has actually SHOPPED there. ::blink::Well obviously you miseed it when I said that stuff is not my style. I don't like clutter or knick knacks, but that doesn't mean someone who does can't call it home decor. - ramseycat - 03-26-2009 Duchess Wrote:Trying to get this pic posted has taken all day...I followed the advice that was given me and it still didn't work so, Sin has taken pity on me & is helping ...I hope my abject failure wasn't some kinda sign from above.Stunning!! I love the light cabinets and the arched doorway. Does the upstairs overlook the kitchen? - Duchess - 03-26-2009 The upstairs is in the older part of the house, the kitchen is part of the great room which was added on... I'd show how it's all connected but, I can't upload to save my life. - LuMPyPussy - 03-26-2009 Sally needs some plants, pictures and throw rugs desperately! Duchess' kitchen is perfect, it's cozy AND functional. Very warm. |
