One more game.

Wednesday night right?

Yep against the Grizzlies

RE: NBA 2015/2016 - HairOfTheDog - 04-11-2016

Wednesday night's game should be a good one, guys. Yesterday, the Warriors beat the Spurs for win #72. If we beat the Grizzlies night after next, there will be some major celebrating going down around here, that's for sure. I'm gonna watch the game at the bar, if I can swing it.

This weekend, Coach Kerr walked back last week's promise to monitor and pull starters if he felt they should be rested. He said before yesterday's Spurs' game that he's instead leaving it up to the players' own judgments; they all seem to wanna play long in pursuit of the win record.

So, I think we'll be playing all-in at home against Memphis on Wednesday, which will two leave two days rest time before the play-offs start on Saturday, 4/16.

Play-Offs
Here's a chart of the top 8 teams and the match-ups in the first round playoffs for both divisions. http://espn.go.com/nba/playoffs/matchups

I'm also rooting for the Clippers; they're #4 in the western division with a win/loss ratio which is damn near as good as the Cavs #1-ranked ratio in the eastern division.

Wolves are the only team in the NBA this season to post wins @ GS, @ LAC & @ OKC.

Hope it's the sign of good things to come.

RE: NBA 2015/2016 - Donovan - 04-11-2016

I think I like the way the Warriors have conducted themselves over the stretch. Not particularly arrogant, but not artificially humble, and they have refused to rise to the bait laid by bitter old dudes like No tippin Pippen and they are clearly having the time of their lives. It'll be fun to watch this team become the next dynasty of the NBA.

You've got KAT, Wiggins, and Shabazz. From what I've seen, they're all talented young players already. And, like you said, the Wolves have beat the best teams in the league when other teams couldn't. I can see the Wolves becoming a dominant team if they can keep and grow their young guys.

I wonder if Garnett is going to play at all next year and how his departure as a team leader and mentor might impact the team given the coaching issue? I haven't seen any announcement that Garnett's retiring; I didn't see him on the court this season, but think he's still got another year left on his contract.

A few great players are on their way out. Kobe retired after 20 years; I wonder sometimes how long it will take the Lakers to rebuild. I think Kevin Garnett came into the league near the same time as Kobe and Tim Duncan.

('No Tippin Pippen' haha. Scottie's a shit-talking asshole and apparently a cheapskate, but I still like him.)

After 20 years in the league, tonight Kobe Bryant will play his final game at home in L.A. against the Jazz.

I never warmed completely to Kobe (or Shaq) on a persona level, like some of my family did. But, Kobe is a truly great player who helped the Lakers win 5 championships. I liked watching him play (except when he shoulda passed and hogged instead!).

Some of his career highlights:

• Third all-time scorer in total points, behind Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Karl Malone.

• Scored 81 points on January 22, 2006, against the Toronto Raptors, the second-highest total in NBA history. Only Wilt Chamberlain (100) has scored more in a game.

• Won five NBA championships, 2000-2002 and 2009-2010.

• Won two Olympic gold medals — in 2008 and 2012.

• NBA MVP in 2008.

• 18 All-Star selections.

• Two-time NBA scoring champion (2006, 2007).

• Four-time NBA All-Star Game MVP.

I hope he plays well tonight. Either way, I'm sure he'll get a great send off at home.

I don't follow b-ball but I do follow y'all so I know from a headline that you did beat the Grizzlies. Congrats! I hope it was a fun, exciting game for all you fans.

I still don't think they break the record (73-9).

It would have been a fun game to watch in-person, for sure.

The Warriors beat your Wolves by only 5 points last night, which puts us at 63 and 7.

I'm starting to think there's a good chance of the Warriors tying the old Bulls' record or beating it. I'll bet you 10 post compliments in a week's period -- up for it?
If Curry stays healthy they break it. MS would be a fool to take the bet.

Inquiring minds want to know if you discussed this bet with Glenn. If so, did he think it was a good bet?

Thanks Duchess. I'm a little hung over and swollen, but it was a really fun game to watch.

We watched the second half at home so I could switch to the Lakers game too. Kobe Bryant scored 60 points, which is amazing. I cried a little. 50

And, the Lakers won (which is kinda amazing itself).

Do I even want to ask what part of your body is swollen?

It's nowhere near as exciting as you probably took it. Smiley_emoticons_wink

Sometimes if I drink too much hard alcohol, my fingers are swollen the next morning.

I'm chugging coffee and water now and just took a couple of aspirin -- that usually helps.

This picture was taken today. It's MS's oldest son and Karl Anthony Towns of the MN Timberwolves.

Very cool! For those into sports, meeting the athletes is just so fricken awesome.

Towns will be the unanimous Rookie Of The Year when that is announced later this spring.
