comment from "blink on crime", i have no idea of their credibility. it's just someone's blog/opinion:

sources inside the investigation have confirmed that Pima County detectives are scrutinizing the prior arrest and prior living arrangements of Justin Mastromarino, Isabel’s cousin. Although Justin was the initial spokesperson for the family immediately after Isabel’s disappearance, he dropped out of sight when investigators could not exclude him as a person of interest.

NOBODY has been excluded!

" isn't seeking a relationship or any kind of commitment"

So just a friend with benefits then? Oh well at least he's honest. He looks creepy to me, maybe because his eyes are so small, I don't trust men with small eyes (something my Nana always said, that and blonde hair) hah silly I know.

presser today, new spokesperson. could just mean Pacheco is off today.

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -
Tucson Police confirmed today that the parents of a missing 6-year-old girl took polygraph tests early in the investigation.

Sgt. Maria Hawke said at a press conference today, "It is accurate that the parents have done polygraph tests," but those results will not be shared. this tells me that the parents have not lawyered up, since if they passed polys a lawyer would be all over the media with that. OR it tells me one or both of them did not pass poly. take your pick. polys of course are not foolproof. depends on the questions and answers which were or were not deceptive.

Police continue their search Isabel Celis, who was reported missing on April 21. She said detectives are working every minute of every day on this case. There is no time it's being left unattended.

She said they are operating under the assumption that Isabel Celis is alive and with someone, and they still plan to bring her home safely.

Police have received 500 tips since the search began, but Hawke said they did not get any reported sightings of Celis in the past 24 hours.

Hawke said the police have no specific information about whether a ransom has been demanded.

The reward remains at about $50,000.

TPD says they are not able to release any additional surveillance video at this time.

The next press conference will be tomorrow at 2 p.m. Tucson News Now will stream it live.

RE: Isabel Mercedes Celis, 6. AZ missing - Barbara - 05-03-2012

Something that has been going through my mind about this case, the neighbor girl of the Celis family said that she was woke up early Saturday morning around 6:30 and her dog and the Celis family dogs were barking and she could also hear men talking. I remember it being said that Mrs. Celis had to leave for work by 7:30. Not sure if anyone has said if the Police questioned the Mother and Father as to the fact that the dogs were barking and if they heard the dogs barking or heard voices. When our dogs bark, we look around and see what is going on. Had anyone in the family been outside that morning? I just feel that the Mother, getting ready for work would have heard the dogs or male voices too. Not sure if it is just me, but I have a habit when I get up in the morning to go look at each of my children, just to check.

Also, I wonder about the information being released, if that information was really going to help solve the case, would we be privileged to it at this time? I do not think so. Things just do not add up to me. I pray for the little girls safe return.

RE: Isabel Mercedes Celis, 6. AZ missing - Lady Cop - 05-04-2012

parents will speak to local media today, i don't yet know what time.

video clip, another uncle. on JVM last night

The uncle of missing six-year-old Isabel Celis told HLN's Jane Velez-Mitchell Thursday that the family is "praying to God that Isabel comes home."

“We go to sleep and hope it’s just a nightmare, and we wake up and we’re still in the same situation,” Louis Rodriguez said. "This is something that you think could never happen to you. ... It’s just a feeling you never want to go through."

RE: Isabel Mercedes Celis, 6. AZ missing - Jezreel - 05-04-2012

I keep thinking back to the parents of Breann Rodriguez when they were told they failed the poly, in the end they had nothing to do with her death, probably felt enormous guilt for letting the kids play out front by themselves.

The 'uncles' dating profile, please tell me it is not from PoF?

RE: Isabel Mercedes Celis, 6. AZ missing - Jezreel - 05-04-2012

Never mind, I found his profile on PoF, this makes me gag after hearing about all the women Michael Rafferty met through this site.

RE: Isabel Mercedes Celis, 6. AZ missing - Lady Cop - 05-04-2012

the parents did an interview today, it had to be an hour long. plus or minus.

2 things...why is it a big damn secret who called 911? they won't answer that. it makes no sense and that detail bothers me. i cannot think of one investigative reason to hold that back.

also...i can't help feeling the dad is acting. he is accustomed to the stage. it shows. these parents know much more than they are letting on.

when it's all said and done, if i have to eat my combat boots i will.

It's amazing to see when a child touches the hearts of so many people, she really is a beautiful little girl, I'm still feeling like some sick MF took her.

RE: Isabel Mercedes Celis, 6. AZ missing - Cheyne - 05-04-2012

This post is my opinion only, I have no secret facts to present.

I think the parents are withholding information to try and protect someone. Going on this theory, who would be close enough to them to "earn" their protection? Not the sleazy "uncle" or "cousin" Justin Mastromarino. In fact, I think he did the first public appearances as a red herring. He probably has an airtight alibi for the entire 24 hour period surrounding Isa's disappearance. He is just sleazy enough and has enough of a criminal record to make him appear to be a suspect in this case.

I believe that Rebecca and Sergio are covering for one of their sons. I think it is most likely that their 14 year old son was "playing hard" with Isa and accidentally killed her. The following quote is from Rebecca in her Today Show interview: "She loves to put , um-- she loves to go out and play with her brothers, um play hard in the dirt and then come back in and get herself all girled up again." This is a strange way to say that Isa loves to be a girl but also loves to get dirty while playing [with her brothers]. The fact that she stresses "play hard" really grabbed my attention.

As a pediatric ER nurse, Becky has seen things done to children that the public can't comprehend. I believe the parents fear that if it is discovered that their son killed Isa (even accidentally) that he will be arrested and jailed, so they would lose two children instead of one. They seem to be grieving, esp. with all the talk of prayers for Isa, but not frantic with worry over Isa's whereabouts.

If my theory is true, I feel very badly for this couple and both their sons.

If that is what may have happened, I do not see it happening while mom was there. I think she was told after the fact. So what time did she go to work? Was it before 6:30 when Miss Neighbor heard the dogs barking and men talking? Are the men calling the shots here?

Don't think so but, hey, you never know.

TUCSON - Isabel Celis has now been missing for two weeks, but Tucson Police say they're still working around the clock to find the 6-year-old.

During another USELESS news conference Saturday, Lt. Fabian Pacheco told News 4 Tucson about 15-20 detectives and analysts are working on the case this weekend.

Police have received more than 900 leads, but Lt. Pacheco says a vast majority of them aren't good leads. However, they're following up on all of them.

Police say many false leads and rumors are spreading through social media. They're still encouraging the community to report tips by calling 911 or 88-CRIME.

Lt. Pacheco said they're still exploring all scenarios, but no one is a focus of the investigation and no one has been eliminated.

Pacheco also said they're working on the assumption that Isabel Celis is still alive and they'll be able to bring her back home safely.

re: the local presser the parents gave.

now they're rock stars. [Image: smileyrocker.jpg]

KGUN
The press conference took place at a Tucson hotel under tightly controlled conditions. Only one camera was allowed, and only one reporter from KOLD, KVOA and KGUN9 were allowed to enter the room and ask questions. The Celis family selected the reporters. For KGUN9 News, anchor Guy Atchley received the invitation and represented 9 On Your Side. The three TV journalists alternated asking questions.

The family also allowed a reporter and photographer from the Arizona Daily Star to be in the room and witness the press conference, but did not allow them to ask questions. Instead, the family gave them a separate interview opportunity following the live press conference.

At one point during the live event, a Phoenix-based reporter walked into the room and asked a question, one that had already been asked. Immediately afterwards, a Tucson police officer escorted that reporter from the room. WHAT THE HELL!

Because of security concerns and concerns for the privacy of Rebecca and Sergio Celis, KGUN9 News has agreed to withhold the location where the press conference took place. KGUN9 News has confirmed, however, that NBC News has been paying for the Celis family to stay at the hotel. During the press conference, the Celis's denied that they were directly compensated for Thursday's exclusive appearance on The Today Show or for the exclusive video of Isabel that they provided to NBC. The family released that same video to Tucson media later Thursday.

RE: Isabel Mercedes Celis, 6. AZ missing - Cheyne - 05-06-2012

Once again the comments here are my opinion only. This is the first half of the local interview given by Rebecca and Sergio Celis.

I watched the video, the only question they answered directly was by Tom McNamara, "Anchor Tom McNamara: Several media outlets have consulted forensic psychologists who have been watching your appearances, who have been watching what you say. Their conclusion is you're not telling us everything you know. Do you know where Isabel is?

Rebecca: No.

Sergio: No."

This leads me to believe that they in fact do NOT know where Isa is. That doesn't mean they don't know who took her [dead or alive] but that they don't know where Isa or her body is currently. If the neighbor heard mens voices at 6:30, it could be that Isa was removed by an accomplice (or actually kidnapped) and the Celises have not been told where she is.

Then Rebecca goes on a rant about being a "private" person and directs the audience to "ask anyone" about how she behaves. These statements come very early into the interview. Focusing the interview on Rebecca, her feelings and her actions-completely nullifying her statements of not wanting to be the focus of the media. Sergio then jumps in with statements about the investigation, and how they are "frustrated" by it. Frustrated? How about terrified, distraught, worried? Frustrated sounds like something you'd say about a missing dog or letter, not your child.

When asked about the polygraph tests: Rebecca: "We are not allowed to discuss any of that." Sergio: "As far as we are aware, we are not allowed to speak about that, and we are not allowed to answer specifics on those kind of investigative questions, to protect the integrity of the investigation. I'm sorry."

Maybe LC can shed some light on this, but how can it compromise an investigation to say "We both passed the polygraph"? The fact that the parents have not been ruled out after being tested speaks volumes.

They are then asked why they are not out in front publicly searching for their daughter. Rebecca: "This is not where we want to be. I am not comfortable here. I am not comfortable in front of the camera. I don't like this. At all."

Sergio: "Neither one of us."

Rebecca makes it all about herself again-telling us she is not comfortable. Her daughter is missing, possibly kidnapped for God knows what and Rebecca isn't comfortable? Rebecca goes on another tirade about her feelings, telling us what she doesn't want to do. She does mention Isa by name once in the past tense "I wanted to be with Isabel", then goes on to say "I want her with us, sitting".

The reporter then asks what the parents would say to Isabel.

Sergio: We miss you so much. We want you back. We miss you so much. Your brothers miss you so much. We are willing to do anything and everything we can. We are part of the volunteer groups, and we are going to be at these benefits, and we are going to be out in front.

Rebecca: We always will love you too much. Just come home. We are out there putting up fliers with the volunteers. It's not something that we need necessarily to have everyone see us do it. We are going to do the softball, they are going to do a softball tournament.

OK, Sergio at least says that her brothers miss her, and that they are willing to do everything to bring her home. Then goes on to talk about how "We" are volunteering, benefits and being out front. Rebecca says that "We will always love you too much" and tells her missing daughter to "Just come home." and goes on about a softball tourney. They really say nothing to Isa-and go on about themselves and their activities at some length. Your daughter is missing for two weeks and all you can say is "We miss you so much. We want you back" and "We always will love you too much. Just come home."? How the hell is Isa supposed to "come home" if she has been kidnapped and is being held by her captors? What about the "love you too much" line? How does a parent love a child "too much"?

Dear God then Sergio continues to talk about himself, in speaking about a benefit concert for Isa. Sergio is actually going to perform at the concert.

The rubber really hits the road when the reporter asks "what do you say to people who say you've played a role in your daughter's disappearance?"
Rebecca: "We are strong enough to take it and there is nothing you are going to find on us. Go for it. At the end of the day Isabel will be home and we'll know who did this." Then goes on to talk about all the praying that is going on. It sounds like Rebecca has thrown down the gauntlet when she states "there is nothing you are going to find on us". That statement doesn't say that they had no role in their daughters disappearance [or death], just that no one will find anything on them. Very interesting.

RE: Isabel Mercedes Celis, 6. AZ missing - Lady Cop - 05-08-2012

may 5: KVOA

TUCSON - It's been two weeks since 6-year-old Isabel Celis was reported missing, but still no solid leads on where the first-grader could be.

At a news conference Saturday, Tucson Police said they're working on more than 900 tips. A majority of them aren't substantial. Around 20 investigators and analysts are working the case this weekend. They're also looking at video, but won't say what it is or where it's from.

As the days continue to pass with no sign of Isabel, no one is giving up. Both law enforcement and volunteers spoke out about how they're feeling on day 15.

"We're going to operate and continue to work this investigation under the assumption that she is alive and that we will bring her back safely to her family," says Lt. Fabian Pacheco.

So far, questions about who could be involved haven't been answered.

"We're just not at a position yet that we could share those things with you, not at a position where we could tell you we have this person as a suspect or that person as a suspect."

Many are beginning to wonder how much TPD really knows. NO SHIT.

"Whoever is involved did an adequate job of really covering a lot of things that we could possibly look at." WHAT THE HELL!? i've never heard such a public comment in an investigation. 15

So sad, I want Isa found.

At this link is a video of Sergio singing (at church 9 think), he is singing Ava Maria, he really does have a lovely voice.
