There is a power plant in our vicinity & occasionally the sirens are tested. It makes my blood run cold & my heart skip a beat if I'm unaware it's only a test, they give forewarning but I don't watch TV enough or listen to the radio in order to be prepared for the sound.

Sky news in the UK is like Fox news, scare mongering, sensationalist tripe, they show graphic footage of the tsunami over and over and over again, yeah thanks for that I think we all know what happened by now, you don't need to show graphic footage of people dying every half hour for fucks sake.
The keep going on about "spectacular" footage, erm, this is not a summer blockbuster its a natural disaster you sick fucks.

Dude, go Wikipedia or something. Reactors that fuck up mainly spew out Xenon. Xenon is radioactive, but not deadly. Hell, you breathe small quantities every day since it makes up air. The deadly cancer causing radioactive elements are iodine-131 and cesium-137, which unless they are solid at room temp are also pretty harmless when released into the atmosphere.
