You may have different admin defaults. The only way to tell is the user CP, bottom left (Subscribed Threads and Subcribed Forums). If those are empty/blank, then it is your default. If there are any selected there, it isn't magick.
Dick, however, clicked on the wrong thing and is blaming the software. That isn't a healthy way to go through life. I would need a screenshot of his CP (the two sections named above) to disprove my allegations.
