I found the lack of DNA to be odd too. That's just an observation, not any kind of defense of the mother. Noooo.

Good news! I thought it was about 50⁄50 odds that she'd be convicted of the murder, but that the abuse charge was pretty much a no-brainer.

Jurors got the case early last week and deliberated for the equivalent of two-and-a-half days before reaching the verdict about whether Hunter murdered Jhessye, who was reported missing in October 2011.

Onlookers said Hunter appeared stoic as the guilty verdict was read, but her mother, Shirley Johnson (pictured above), erupted, howling that Jhessye "is not dead" before being ousted from the courtroom.

Shortly after the verdict was read, jurors returned to the deliberation room, where they would decide any aggravating factors in the case. At minimum, Hunter faces a term of 35 years to life for Jhessye's death when she is sentenced next month.

Jerice Hunter will be sentenced, today.

I can only hope she will die behind bars and her body will be tossed into a dumpster . . . with the other trash.

Jerice Hunter sentenced to life plus 20 years for abuse charge....I will drink to that.....Cheers!
