John Thebes helped defend Gerald Robinson the Priest who murdered the Toledo Nun also the lead Prosecutor was Dean Mandross now Judge Dean Mandross.

Why would the Bond be dropped from 5 million to 4.7 million ?

She is no longer his attorney. New public defenders have been appointed, Mr. Theebs and Ms. Roman.

The Judge had to set bond again and he set what he thought was appropriate on on each charge individually and they just add up a little less than what was set in the Sylvania Municipal Court.

I think you're right. They obviously want to grieve privately. If she wants to do hers publicly that's fine but because they don't want to associate with the Clarke family why does she feel justified to post what she has.

I would thank everyone in here for their attention to this. I was in Afg when the murder occured and now follow the developments from CA. This board is by far the most in tuned board on it's case so thanks to all.

Really creepy!! Now seeing his picture en face so many times and now seeing his profile ,I'm so sickened that this face and the faces of those involved were what poor Johnny and Lisa saw at the end.
LC , since the DA has not announced that this is a death case,then why haven't they? Could they be waiting to see if he names names because surely his attorneys must have informed him of the possibly.

frankly, there's simply no hurry to announce anything. we haven't even seen the evidence released in public. yes, i do believe there are behind-the-scenes dealing and discussions happening. as well as a wait for possible additional arrests.

A Jan. 18 trial date was set in Lucas County Common Pleas Court yesterday for the man charged with the asphyxiation deaths of a couple in Springfield Township.

Samuel Todd Williams, 24, of 1626 Kelsey Ave. pleaded not guilty to two counts each of aggravated murder and kidnapping and one count of aggravated burglary. If convicted, he could face the death penalty.

Williams is charged in the Jan. 31 slayings of Johnny Clarke and Lisa Straub, who were found dead in the Longacre Lane home of Miss Straub's parents. The pair had been bound with duct tape, and plastic bags were taped around their necks.

Judge Dean Mandros ordered that Williams be held in custody in lieu of a $4.3 million bond. He issued a gag order in the case preventing attorneys from talking to the media.

Family members of Miss Straub and Clarke were present in the courtroom. They declined comment after the hearing.

Thank you LC. To answer your question, yes. I, like Cracker's son, am a US Marine. No I hadn't seen those comments but he did allude to them on Toledo Talk.

I don't know if she is more sick than dumb but either way it's not a good combination.

Also just realized that Johnny grew up in the neighborhood I grew up in (I was on the other side of the South/Airport Criscross). It pisses me off that the South End has declined so much.

Maybe I moved out in time before I ended up like the rest of the hoodrats. Doubtful, my best friend since kindergarten grew up not far away, on Geneva, and he's got a PhD now.

Thanks Nina. This is all so unreal there is finally an arrest. He looks like such a normal guy...dying to know who else was involved and how they were linked to Johnny and Lisa...Lady Cop warned us it will be a longggg time before going to trial if ever (plea deal)...hope a lot in the mean time is leaked.

Now that a gag order has been imposed on the Attorneys representing Samuel Williams by Judge Dean Mandros, are news media allowed to report on trial proceedings? Are they granted permission to take pictures? Why did he ever go over to the Straub's house and do what he is accused of doing? We are depending on the news media in Toledo, Ohio to report on the case!
