I'm starting my Christmas shopping & I intend to be done with everything, including having my home decorated, by Black Friday. I have 10 holiday parties to plan, 8 of them work related & I have to find a gown for a gala in December. It's 87 degrees outside & all I want to do is sit by the pool and fuck off.

You need two trees this year. A tree for the foyer & a more intimate one for the family room. I see room for more touches like that but 2 is enough to handle. You'll have time to do it too.

Duch, do you have a fireplace? I love fireplaces? Is that environmentally wrong in this day and age? Or is it just not economically sound? Heating here is expensive.

Yup, a few of them. My house is very old, colonial old & except for the great room the rooms are fairly small and most have a fireplace.
Many people have fires in the cold weather months here, I don't see it as being environmentally wrong.

Well this isn't good news for our cabin.
An evacuation advisory is in effect from Tuolumne City and the area east of Highway 108 to Pinecrest Lake.
I keep telling myself the fire can't possibly reach Pinecrest. It still appears (on the maps) to be pretty far away.
