MEN, IS THIS TRUE? - Duchess - 06-23-2013

"Men feel important when you ask for their help, instead of thinking you can do it all on your own."

RE: MEN, IS THIS TRUE? - SIXFOOTERsez - 06-23-2013

As a general rule it does make me feel good for someone to ask for help. However, having been around a while, I can recognize the manipulation when it comes along.

I just sigh and wonder why they can't do it on their own and stop bugging my lazy ass.

She was asking men.

Our mailbox was so old that it was all rusted out and leaning over so I had my husband go to Lowes with me to buy a new one. When we went to put it up he threw a huge fit outside and said he'd rather be dead than spend his Saturday doing this fucking shit. So no, I don't get the feeling that he feels important when I ask him to help me out with stuff.

I'm sure that maneuver helps those pink panties look nice.

I need some help with drywall repair. Anyone? *bats eyes*

RE: MEN, IS THIS TRUE? - crash - 06-24-2013

Surely if you can handle that mammoth task of changing a hard drive you can patch a little plaster? Go down to Home Depot and buy a $10 repair kit. Five minute job.

No, my ego is far too large to be boosted by something as piffling as that.

I get annoyed when a woman asks me to do something every 5mins when they could clearly do it themselves.

I don't blame you a bit. It IS annoying & I'll never understand why my own species would want to give the impression they are not capable of handling simple things on their own.

Some aren't capable and that is fine, but there is nothing worse than a woman who is capable that thinks I was put on the earth to do her daily tasks for her... I have my own fucking list of daily tasks bitch do it yourself.

what if they don't got nothing I want Maggit? what then mang?

RE: MEN, IS THIS TRUE? - Duchess - 06-24-2013

It embarrasses me to have to ask for help. I take pride in being self sufficient.

RE: MEN, IS THIS TRUE? - Cynical Ninja - 06-24-2013

You aren't one of those people who struggle pointlessly with something they know they can't do but are to proud and pigheaded to ask for help are you?

My wife is, if she was hanging from a cliff she wouldn't ask for help too stubborn and pigheaded.

RE: MEN, IS THIS TRUE? - sally - 06-24-2013

I do just about everything around the house myself, but once in a while I'm not ashamed to ask for help with something I don't know fuck all about or I'm just not physically strong enough to do.

No. Can't isn't in my vocabulary so I always make the effort to try first. It would be pointless (and a waste of time. I hate wasting time.) to continue if I knew I wasn't capable.
