i have a question...how many babies are unacceptable? i have known crack whores in and out of jail who have popped out addicted babies over and over so the state can raise them. one comes to mind, age 24, 5 babies. why can't they use birth control or have an abortion? the baby is born in extremis, and the crack-whore goes back to the jail or the street after delivery.
sorry to stray from topic, but that always bothered me. i served removal papers on so many of those pigs. they didn't give a rat's ass. or they'd put on a big show about "why are they taking my baby"? just because i work the street and leave my babies in dirty old cars in the cold with 3-day old diapers and no food?

If a woman was not raped or in medical danger, how would any past the first mistake be acceptable in any form? Certainly after two mistakes, things would clearly be unacceptable? I think so.

He never said anything about rights. He stated his opinion that more than two mistakes is unacceptable.
Nothing in his comment said how it should be handled or by who. He never said you must keep the third baby. He never said anyone has no right to make those mistakes over and over.
I actually agree with him. Only those who are so careless would make the mistake over and over again. Granted things do happen MISTAKENLY, but damn, how many until you use birth control?

I admit that my earlier snotty post was purely a reflection of my mood...The truth of the matter is, I'm not so sure that I could go through with an abortion even if I was pregnant due to horrifying circumstances...I think that women who use abortion as birth control should not be allowed to do that & most women who go through that procedure do so at great cost to themselves {mentally}...I really don't believe that the average, normal woman would take such a drastic measure unlessshe had no other recourse.

A bit OT, but I am reminded of an internship I did with the Rochester PD, when I was in college. One day I did a ride along with a family Crisis Intervention team member. One of the stops was at the home of a woman who's sister (or cousin, I forget) had left her two toddlers with her, "for an hour"--about 3 or 4 days previously. She had no clue where the mother was, could not reach her (this was before cell phones) and had no clue when or if she would be returning. We were going to pick up the kids to put them in care. Suddenly, as we were leaving the mom myseriously showed up--insisting that the person who had her kids KNEW she would be gone a few days. We had to give the kids to the mom, as we no longer had cause to keep them, but it was obvious even to me that she was eithe drunk, or high..or both.

this one that i refer to was in the bank parking lot giving some guy a bj, and her baby was dirty, coldand hungry in a car nearby. she was also very pregnant, so i had to go to hospital with her when she went into labor in jail. have your baby cuffed to a bed with a cop standing there, then walk out of hospital back to jail leaving crack baby behind for social services to deal with. this story is not unusual among the street crack-whores.

The depravity of what passes for 'humanity' in this modern day leaves me outraged.
Abortion? Although abortions would be preferable to that situation, where unwanted neglected, innocent babies grow into the same kind of street trash they are born of, a much better solution would be sterilization.
