NEVER FORGET . . . . - Carsman - 09-10-2013 . . . . . what those pond scum SOB's did! every 911, my better half watches' TV for her cousin's his name to be called out/remembered, ( only 41) he was on the 88th floor T1, and left behind "3" young children & young wife! Still a very sad day. RE: NEVER FORGET . . . . - nrkerr - 09-10-2013 I'm sorry for your family. Tomorrow is a very sorrowful day, and it really pisses me off that D.C. has refused the permit of the 2 Million Bikers to D.C., but is okay with the Million Muslim March. Fucking Douchebags!! RE: NEVER FORGET . . . . - Duchess - 09-11-2013 Hard to believe it's been 12 yrs. I still have such a vivid memory of that morning. Do you all recall what you were doing? I remember running up to the barn & pushing his office door open, he was in a meeting and there I stood with my wet hair in a towel trying to articulate what I had just seen. I still wasn't "getting" what I saw but they all knew immediately that it was terrorists. I watched news coverage all day & cried when I saw the people jumping from the towers. To this day it's the most shocking thing I've ever seen. RE: NEVER FORGET . . . . - ramseycat - 09-11-2013 I was at work listening to Howard Stern. I say next to this guy Dan. He was listening too. When we first heard what was happening, we turned and looked at each other in shock. The phones stopped ringing and the whole office got quiet as everyone was either on the net or listening to the reports. I wanted to leave and get my kids from daycare and bring them home with me. RE: NEVER FORGET . . . . - Carsman - 09-11-2013 My better half is currently watching TV (9:09 am) for her cousin's name to be called, sad. RE: NEVER FORGET . . . . - Midwest Spy - 09-11-2013 I had just taken my oldest son to school and was in my car. Somehow, had the radio tuned to a news station, and heard the first details. Went home and flipped on the tv. By this time both towers had been hit, but the Pentagon was hit shortly after I'd tuned in. I remember calling my dad for some reassurance that this wasn't the end of the world as we knew it. I'm really happy I was able to get to Ground Zero this summer. I've always felt like I needed to visit that place. If someone wouldn't mind posting Paul Simons 'Sound of Silence' 9⁄11 video I think it'd be appropriate again for this thread. It doesn't matter if they got a permit or not, they still went. I came across a live cam on FB...it's pretty awesome watching them roll into DC. Can't post a link from my phone RE: NEVER FORGET . . . . - Midwest Spy - 09-11-2013 Thanks, Jim. Muslims meet Americas bikers - Maggot - 09-11-2013 This should be good or bad......... .....................vs. RE: NEVER FORGET . . . . - HairOfTheDog - 09-11-2013 (09-11-2013, 11:17 AM)FAHQTOO Wrote:(09-10-2013, 10:05 PM)nrkerr Wrote: I'm sorry for your family. Here's a video from Youtube, an endless stream of bikers rolling into DC. Glad they're doing it! RE: NEVER FORGET . . . . - Maggot - 09-11-2013 Not a heck of a lot in the media about this. RE: NEVER FORGET . . . . - Duchess - 09-11-2013 Those morons only care about who is sucking Weiner's dick. God forbid they cover anything of substance. RE: NEVER FORGET . . . . - Maggot - 09-11-2013 Its my 14th anniversary today. Easy to remember. Going out in about an hr..........soon as that damn babysitter gets here! Imma gonna shwinggg. Oh yeah and dance. RE: NEVER FORGET . . . . - HairOfTheDog - 09-11-2013 I do remember exactly what I was doing when the news and video first broke 12 years ago today. The feeling of disbelief and sadness comes back easily whenever I think about it; especially on the anniversary. Always a bit down on September 11th, but grateful nothing of the kind has happened since. ================================ On a happier anniversary note: Wishing you a great celebration with the professor this evening, maggot. Dance like you need the money, baby!!! RE: NEVER FORGET . . . . - username - 09-12-2013 (09-11-2013, 06:27 PM)Maggot Wrote: Not a heck of a lot in the media about this. It was MUCH quieter this year. My kids were about 2 1⁄2 then. I was getting breakfast ready and turned on the news. I remember how creepy it was for days after not having any airplanes in the sky. RE: NEVER FORGET . . . . - F.U. - 09-12-2013 I remember exactly where and what I was doing that morning. I was at work on a roof, overlooking the mississippi river when I heard the news of the attack. Had I taken the day off work like I had scheduled I would have ben at home getting ready to celebrate my birthday [yes I have a 9⁄11 birthday] . When the news of the first tower being struck reached the jobsite the site went quiet with the exception of the radios playing the news. Every jobsite radio, every car and truck on the site had the news on. Shortly after we realized this was no accident I packed up the tools and the crew and took them all to my house so we could witness the events of the day live on the TV. I for one will never forget! |
