Public school officials are . . . . . - Carsman - 10-02-2013 the Assholes here! A public school in R.I., suspended a student from school for three days after he brought in a small, gun-shaped keychain that he'd won at an amusement park. The father of the 12-year-old, thinks his son's punishment was over-the-top. "It was clearly a toy you would get in a bubble ball at a gumball machine!" This is bordering on insanity over this." They are making a mountain out of a mole hill. The boy's parents tried to reason with officials at the Middle School but were told they were "lucky" that their son hadn't been expelled. The reason for the suspension, according to local paper, was that the middle school has a zero-tolerance policy for guns or "gun replicas." A key chain, really? That's A key chain, hello? Because of this suspension means the boy will miss the New England Common Assessment Program, an annual standardized test. Neither school officials nor the district superintendent returned The local paper's requests for comment. So did the school over react? RE: Public school officials are . . . . . - Duchess - 10-02-2013 Yes, I do think they overreacted. A fricken keychain for christssake. My faith in people having even a minute amount of common sense is at an all time low these days. RE: Public school officials are . . . . . - Maggot - 10-02-2013 The Professor teaches High school kids now and the stories she tells would melt paint in an old folks home. But there are some who have a ton of promise. Its the parents that do not spend time with them. I tell you most are little bastards but they all are just looking for individualism because the world after all revolves around them. RE: Public school officials are . . . . . - cladking - 10-03-2013 If there were a zero tolerance policy on stupidity there would be no problem. The officials would be fired. (out of a cannon) |
