THE GRAMMYS - Duchess - 01-27-2014

When you hear of the Grammys do you expect there to be outrageous performances and "out there" outfits/costumes?

I ask because as I'm reading the news I see parents expressing outrage over both of the things I mentioned. While I've never considered this until now I have to say I don't have the expectation that this show is going to feature kid friendly performances. Do you?

I have not seen a "slap myself on the back" type show in many years. anything before 9pm should be "kid friendly"

Kid friendly" has gone out the window! The majority of commercials shown on TV during the day these days are, & S/B only for adults! Victoria Secret models slinking down the runway, bra commercials, penis enlargement commercials, cursing commercials, and the list goes on, & on.
Certainly on a supposedly adult theme show, (in the evening) one would not (should not) expect a "kid friendly" senerio.

I watched the whole thing, it's not the grammy's of old. The highlight for me was when Taylor Swift thought she had won and she didn't. That was funny.

All kids are different, define “kid friendly”.

The Miley Cyrus “twerking” shit was to me another storm in a teacup, she knew retards would completely over react generating more record sales. Mission accomplished!

Madonna was shaking her arse on stage in the 80s who cares?

I'm not sure that I can. I know that kids are more sophisticated now than when I was a kid and I know they see a lot of graphic stuff on regular network television. If I were a parent I don't think I would view the Grammys as a show for children just because of the outrageous factor and by kids I mean anyone younger than probably 13. I'm not a good judge of this kind of thing so I really don't know, that's just a guess.

I mean what do you consider “too sexual” for children? Miley Cyrus twerking? Dancers shaking their booty in rap videos? Dolly Partons massive hooters? Marilyn Monroe standing over an air vent and letting her skirt blow up? Elvis shaking his hips?

I'm not a good judge of that. I saw Beyonce & Jay Z's performance that set off these parents and I didn't see anything wrong with it.

Exactly, a lot of parents are offended by fuck all.

My daughter saw footage of Miley twerking online and just laughed at her she thought it was ludicrous.

Now that I've thought a little about this, I don't think I'd let little kids watch. As far as I can tell there is a lot of monkey see, monkey do going on with little ones. It would probably be okay for 13 year olds but not 8 year olds.
