A DAY OF REST - Duchess - 02-23-2014

Do you use your Sundays for R & R or do you have to use that time to accomplish things you weren't able to get to during the week?

There was a time when stores didn't even open on Sunday & God help you if you wanted alcohol and you forgot to get it the night before.

I only ask because I'm a slug today. It's great!

...and I'm high.

RE: A DAY OF REST - Eat Shit And Die - 02-23-2014

I have been on the couch eating and smoking weed, because its back to getting up at 5.30am as usual tomorrow.

Yesterday, I went out and played a bit - then lounged a lot. Did manage to do a little laundry and gardening in the afternoon.

This morning, I'm procrastinating - need to finish the clean-up part of yesterday's gardening and do payroll tax in the office (I hate that unfair effin' tax - it was due on Friday).

Typically one weekend day is more relaxed and the other is a few hours of paperwork and catching up.

I got my car detailed this morning. Doing laundry today. Chilling with the baby right now. When I worked I used weekends to get everything done. Now I can spread it out. But I do need a day every once in awhile where I do nothing but veg.

You have all week but you paid somebody else to wash your car? Maybe that Jew bitch has got a point about you squandering money..

RE: A DAY OF REST - ramseycat - 02-23-2014

Not wash it detail it. I get a desk because friends own the car wash. So for $50 I got my car looking like new in an hour and a half. It would have taken me all day to do it myself. Totally worth the fifty.

Careful there, you don't want to overdo it. There's probably someone you can pay $50 to roll their eyes for you..

RE: A DAY OF REST - Duchess - 02-23-2014

Ramsey, I can do that all day long. Call me.

You looking to make some extra cash?

I've always thought Sunday is the most depressing day of the week, even more than Mondays because I know Monday is next.

I treat it as any other day, but growing up my dad and mom were sticklers for Sunday rest, I guess his parents being devout Methodists and my mom's being catholic. Every Sunday was either pot roast or my mom's Sunday night gravy.

RE: A DAY OF REST - SIXFOOTERsez - 02-23-2014

Worked most of yesterday, today I built an 8' x 10' box flower bed. 20 bags of garden soil and 2 bags of peat moss.
Then went to a rodeo

RE: A DAY OF REST - QueenBee - 02-23-2014

So, today I re-lit the water heater that went out during the Mighty Wind we had yesterday. Then I cleaned the kitchen, put away laundry, dusted and mopped the floor.
Then I took a shower and rested.

I was on call yesterday and only had two interventions with the police, that's a quiet day compared to most really. One of them was at 2 am though so I'm still awake and slightly wired.

RE: A DAY OF REST - BlueTiki - 02-24-2014

Yesterday was a play day.

Took my niece to the Matsuri Festival, lunched and then went to the gun show and bought her a Walther PPS.

Me? A T-Shirt with this logo:

I wanted the one that said: "Armed Infidel" in both Farsi and English.

Didn't have my size.
