Yes it changes. California has put a tax on gas recently and it looks high. The reasoning is to stop climate change. I suggest and will try myself to follow the money, where will that money actually go? I think its like 30 cents a gallon.

Huh?? More???

I confess, I don't pay that much attention to gas prices. It's a necessity. I just drive up to the pump and don't look. That said, I know prices when we were back east were a lot less. My husband sure noticed...he snapped a picture of one of the gas signs to send to friends/family back here.

We cannot let the natural lower pricing of gas go without the State getting a piece of the pie now can we? Why that would mean they are paying less and heaven forbid the consumer knows he should be paying 5.00 per gallon no matter what it cost.

We have a high state gas tax here in NY, I do not think it changes anything. All I see different is that we run about 10-20 cents higher than national average gas prices.

And a high cig tax too QB. The cost of living there is a major reason why I don't want to move back.

Don't smoke, so I don't know from cigs. But it does suck here, sometimes.

I don't smoke either. There are a lot of good things about NY. Not enough to make me move back though.

It's good though, the knowledge that you are protected well and the poor are getting help is a great thing. Your taxes help the poor and downtrodden so it must be great living in a high tax area that is run properly compared to the states that don't supply the much needed help through taxation.
