BULLYING - Duchess - 08-13-2016 I thought we had talked about this subject but I couldn't find the thread. I just read a story about a 13 yr. old boy who hung himself in the attic, one of his sisters found his body. He thought that was the only way out, the only way to stop the bullying he went through at school. This was after his teachers had been made aware of what was going on. I would hope that none of you have kids who make the lives of their peers miserable. It's wrong and it's up to you to nip that shit in the bud. RE: BULLYING - SIXFOOTERsez - 08-13-2016 No, my kids were always the ones to stand up to bullys. When I was a kid there were always a couple asshole bullys, I hated that but it really makes a kid feel helpless and abandoned. If you tell the teachers your a rat and then the bully catches you off somewhere and beats your ass. Parents never seemed to do much, the parents of the bullys I knew didn't give a shit. For me it stopped when I put on a little size and went ape shit on one. Beat the shit out of him with a brick. After that, those bullys left me alone, the other kids thought I was a hero. On to other schools and other bullys but by then I had the confidence and determination to put a stop to it. Now days I would have been arrested and all that BS. Bullys have never changed, you have to make them believe you will do then serious dammage no matter what else happens. Thats the only thing they understand. Its the same if you get someone else to do the violence for you RE: BULLYING - sally - 08-13-2016 (08-13-2016, 11:33 AM)Duchess Wrote: I would hope that none of you have kids who make the lives of their peers miserable. I've asked my kids about it before and they've never understood the appeal of being cruel to someone who has done absolutely nothing to them anymore than we do. I did have to talk to my daughter about being mean to the little black boy at the pool, but I think that was more of a "boys have cooties" thing than actual bullying. RE: BULLYING - Duchess - 08-13-2016 It just makes me so sad mad when I read these kind of stories. I have a big soft spot for vulnerable people no matter their age. RE: BULLYING - sally - 08-13-2016 That whole "kids are cruel" thing is just an excuse. I know plenty of kids who don't get off on tormenting other kids to the point of suicide. RE: BULLYING - Carsman - 08-13-2016 There was only one real bully at my school that I knew of, and we both were the same size, (kinda big) so he never picked on me! A few of the kids he picked on, eventually became friends with me, so we hung out together and they were not picked on any longer. (They used my size to their advantage.) (Luckily, my kids were not bullys, nor were they bullyed) RE: BULLYING - cannongal - 08-14-2016 (08-13-2016, 11:33 AM)Duchess Wrote: That was the school bullies fuckin suck thread, One of my Boy Scouts hung himself because of bullying. I still remember that funeral very vividly, He was 14. The high School that Connor went to has at least 1 suicide a year due to bullying. I remember once when my boys were little, and we were at a playground, there was a boy there that kept pushing my youngest (who was like 4 at the time) down. I said something to the boys mother, and she was all "Well, boys will be boys". Shortly after I spoke to the mother, her son pushed my youngest down again, and my 7 year old comes out of no where and cold cocks the kid, knocked one of his teeth out, Then he says "Nobody picks on my brother but ME!" The boys mother comes running over, and says "are you going to do something about your kid?" I said "Well, boys will be boys- Come on boys! It's time to go get Ice Cream!" I left her standing there with her mouth open. RE: BULLYING - BigMark - 08-14-2016 Awesome! RE: BULLYING - sally - 08-14-2016 My husband beat up a kid once for bringing mustard sandwiches to lunch everyday. That's awful, the kid was probably poor and his parents couldn't afford anything else. I tried to put myself in your shoes. Did you know he was so unhappy? It's so sad that these kids see death as their only option :( RE: BULLYING - Duchess - 08-14-2016 (08-14-2016, 12:25 PM)sally Wrote: My husband beat up a kid once for bringing mustard sandwiches to lunch everyday. I never saw him unhappy, but I didn't go to school with him either, and he always had a smile on his face in scouts :/ He never gave any indication that he was suicidal either- he had goals in life, and had he decided to live, instead of hanging himself in his garage, he would have been the youngest scout in our district to achieve Eagle scout. He also played a mean guitar, one of his fav songs to play at camp outs was "Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life)" by Greenday. They played it at his funeral, and I lost it-just lost it. Mustard sandwiches can be delightfully tasty, especially so with a slice of roast beef and swiss cheese along with a a leaf of lettuce and a vine ripened tomato. You many substitute mayonnaise for the mustard should you choose to do so. RE: BULLYING - BigMark - 08-17-2016 i think she meant a wish sandwich RE: BULLYING - Duchess - 04-05-2018 I just read the obituary of another kid who committed suicide over bullying. Cherish was 12 and a loved one found the body and performed CPR while waiting for the EMT's. They addressed the bullying in the obit. After reading it I wondered what it was about her that attracted bullies, there's always something, kids are cruel that way. I found a picture of her, Cherish looked like a 12 yr. old boy, her friends and family called her Chance. I couldn't possibly know why she was bullied, it was never stated, I'm assuming it's because she was a little girl who looked like a boy. I just wanted to put that out there. DUCHESS ASSUMED! This is just so fuckin' awful :( RE: BULLYING - Maggot - 04-05-2018 Kids are not very PC they say it like it is, some consider that bullying. RE: BULLYING - Duchess - 04-05-2018 (04-05-2018, 11:59 AM)Maggot Wrote: Kids are not very PC they say it like it is, some consider that bullying. When you make a kid's life hell day after day & death is preferable, that's a bit more than being rude to a classmate. Do you equate being well mannered & dignified with being PC? I ask because more & more it appears as if you do. The way an adult looks at the world and the way a kid looks at the world is different. Especially when they are away from their family, some kids are better away from their parents others are worse. being well mannered and being pc are 2 different things. Saying someone is stupid when they do something stupid is still doing something stupid no matter how its said. RE: BULLYING - sally - 04-05-2018 I think asshole parents have asshole kids. They don't know how to teach their kids not to behave like monkeys. If you have a kid that thinks it fun to torment other kids to the point that they want to commit suicide then you're not doing something right as a parent.
