I know some libs who are losing their mind over this story. Here's my take: She's been here for almost 20 years illegally. Her husband stated that "her worst nightmare is coming true" so clearly she knew the consequences. 20 years is plenty of time to do what she needed to do to stay here legally. She chose not to do it. I have no sympathy for anyone who chooses not to help themselves. She let her family down by not getting off her ass and doing what she needed to do to ensure something like this would not happen. Let the chips fall where they may.

This is just a guess as I couldn't possibly know, but I think those who have never lived in a place where illegal immigration is an issue are probably more inclined to have a more liberal mindset when it comes to this type of story.

I do feel just awful for the families, particularly those people who have been hardworking, productive members of society. It bothers me when I hear some of the stories, I have compassion for them. I feel especially bad for those who were brought here as children. It's just so sucky.

Do you keep every stray animal that you come across? America is not kennel.

I've kept or found homes for every animal that has been dumped here by people who think an anonymous farm is just the place to abandon their unwanted pet. I've done the same with many retired racehorses too.

It's a lot of work, and something I would personally contribute to knowing your nature. When you let huge pockets of immigrants in a certain area they actually start excluding others once they get a toehold., that's right YOU, and YOURS get excluded. Did you ever try to buy a 7-11? No? But if you did you would know what i'm trying to say. You have no idea what is going on here, it's a war for our culture and way of life, a daily struggle to keep the faintest resemblance of the life we had here in the old paradise.

You're right, I probably don't know what's going on and I'm sure it plays the biggest role in why I have a liberal view of it. If I had to live it, chances are my opinion would change. I only have my own experience to go by.

Here's 2 things I agree with the libs on: 1. Make it easier and cheaper to become a citizen. 2. Come down hard on employers who hire illegals. America's thirst for cheap labor enables illegals to come here and stay under the radar.

We implemented fines and random INS checks down here for employers who hire illegals quite some time ago. Once the first few took the hit, everyone else fell into suit. Employers down here won't even look at an application until citizenship, or visa status has been verified.

Where is here, Georgia?

I meant to comment on this earlier but it's been a damn busy day. I took that as a compliment, Mark, it sounds like you trust me. Thanks for that. It's not misplaced. Smiley_emoticons_bussi

80 miles from the Mexican border in Arizona.

Do you ever shop there? Is it true there are bargains to be had?

I used to, but not since the cartels started going ape shit. Prescription drugs are pennies on the dollar down there so a lot of the retired folks still make weekly trips down. The deals get better the further away from the border you get, but then the risk of getting your head lopped off goes up too.

Wasn't it Bush2 that promised this? I work in insurance and my business is down 12 what it was 10 years ago because our state won't renew driver license without social security numbers. Doesn't mean that they don't still drive. Doesn't mean they don't pay their car insurance. It just means all the cars are going into their children's names but most kids can't buy new cars. I will take 10 Hispanic customers over 1 *keep up with the Jones'* family any day because my Hispanic customers actually pay their bills without having to call them many times over. More often than not, the excuses I hear from those good ole boy families are *can I pay it next week? I am on vacation* or *I can't pay my insurance on time because I have to buy Christmas or birthday for my kids*. Never ever hear that from my Hispanic customers.

RE: DOJ song - Duchess - 08-06-2017

I never knew one could put off paying their insurance. I've always thought if it wasn't paid on time it was cancelled. I wouldn't dare ever be late.

I'm not surprised to learn your Hispanic customers are better clients than a cracker. Not at all.

Sometimes it is. I didn't pay my renters insurance by August 1st like I was supposed to (It was originally due July 13th). I'm pretty sure it is cancelled.

Some insurance companies give you a "25" day grace period before you are totally cancelled. Check into it.

Ask Rams, she would know for sure!
