I don't want to have to use it but I like looking at it. I marvel at some of the contraptions I've seen. I was once up in an old Amish barn and discovered an ice box, a wall size old fashion ice box. It was one of the coolest things I've seen. Had I been building a home I would have bought that puppy and had it modernized. It was only a couple thousand dollars. I took a picture, I hope I still have it. RE: They Don't make Lawn Mowers . . . . . - Carsman - 07-23-2018 (07-23-2018, 04:44 PM)Duchess Wrote: I like old stuff like that. It certainly would be a conversation piece. RE: They Don't make Lawn Mowers . . . . . - Duchess - 07-23-2018 (07-23-2018, 04:51 PM)Carsman Wrote: It certainly would be a conversation piece. It's a beautiful piece of machinery. I feel goofy even saying that. I think it's awesome, Cars. I'm going to show one of my guy friends who would appreciate something like that. I found the old ice box. It's not nearly as big as it's been in my mind all this time. RE: They Don't make Lawn Mowers . . . . . - Blindgreed1 - 07-23-2018 Wish I could see the pics. Only pic's I can see are Ski's RE: They Don't make Lawn Mowers . . . . . - Carsman - 07-23-2018 Beautiful, and I like that "cat" lamp too!!! RE: They Don't make Lawn Mowers . . . . . - ZEROSPHERES - 07-23-2018 Cars, You posted the introductory model in 1951. Below is the 1959 model. It was first sold in Hollywood and used regularly on Joan Crawford's property. I may be able to find a publicity photo of Christina Crawford pushing it. It was apropos for is time. RE: They Don't make Lawn Mowers . . . . . - Ski at 1SKY6 - 07-23-2018 Joan was a real slave driver and Christina was known to rebel. RE: They Don't make Lawn Mowers . . . . . - ZEROSPHERES - 07-24-2018 They loved each other. Sputnik and Telstar and the turbine engine soon followed. Women started getting breast augmentation and MWS bought his first penis enlarger. RE: They Don't make Lawn Mowers . . . . . - Ski at 1SKY6 - 07-24-2018 Speaking of "American Hubris", Donald Trump comes to mind. |
