When all Christmas advertisements seem like expensive movies - Maggot - 12-07-2019

Along come one that cost 150.00 and that was for permission to use the song. Advertisers and filmakers should be ashamed.

I saw this last night and got a little weepy. It's lovely.

It's ridiculous. Like that little ginger fuck even knows what is going on. Way to exploit your kid so a bunch of lonely old fat ladies can feel good for a second.

Don't even say anything Rootilda. You just go to hell.

I am not watching that bullshit. I hate it!
When I commuted for 2 hours a day I would stop listening to the radio this time of year-not because of the music but because of the advertisements. Especially the ones that use children.

You fucks don't get my point ......It cost 150.00 to make.

RE: When all Christmas advertisements seem like expensive movies - sally - 12-08-2019

Probally because they didn't use Ellen or Samuel L Jackson.

$150 is pretty cheap for production. I don't know anything about the distribution/air time costs for this ad, which are typically the most expensive parts of a television advertising campaign (especially on the national level).

Anyway, I think it's a nice ad and the kid is a cutie.

But, I don't get your point.  Why should businesses that spend more on holiday advertisements be ashamed of themselves in a capitalist society? It doesn't bother me if they spend more to make more or whatever.  It's private businessess' money/profit to spend as they see fit.

What I think is shameful is the huge influence of corporate money on politics, and false advertisements that actually mislead and hurt consumers, and shit like that.

I just hate to see money wasted. Now if I was a Socialist/Democrat spending everyone else's money would not be a problem. At least not until it ran out.  Smiley_emoticons_biggrin

Can you imagine the money that goes into producing the Superbowl commercials?  Then the cost to put them on the air?  CBS charged 5 Mil for a 30 second time slot during the last one.

Okay, I watched it. It was cute. Didn't make me weepy!!!
$150 seems reasonable since there were no graphics or special effects.

I was thinking we were going to see an old man at the end of it, that would have made me weepy!

RE: When all Christmas advertisements seem like expensive movies - BigMark - 12-08-2019

Open sores make me weepy.
