WOOOOOO - Duchess - 08-14-2020 I saw this and thought it was interesting. If it's brown, lie down. If it's black, fight back. If it's white, goodnight. Whenever I'm hiking in the mountains, I wear bells. I don't ever EVER want to encounter a bear. ![]() RE: WOOOOOO - Clang McFly - 08-14-2020 What if there is an escaped bear in those mountains who trained to attack and kill at the sound of a bell? RE: WOOOOOO - Duchess - 08-14-2020 Time to bend over & kiss my ass goodbye. RE: WOOOOOO - Rootilda - 08-14-2020 How does lying down help if a grizzly is after you? RE: WOOOOOO - Duchess - 08-14-2020 I think the expectation is that by playing dead you could save your life. I'm not prepared to put that to the test. RE: WOOOOOO - sally - 08-14-2020 I read something in the news here a while ago about black bears roaming in people's yards. One guy was out doing yard work and a black bear came up and smacked him in the face ![]() RE: WOOOOOO - Maggot - 08-14-2020 I've seen a few around here, black bears usually very early in the morning. I've seen 2 so far this year. I would not want to be any where near a Grizzly though. They get angry easily, and are not afraid of much. that's what you get when you are the biggest thing in the woods. They are tough too and will take many bullets before going down I don't even wanna think about meeting a polar bear. RE: WOOOOOO - Rootilda - 08-14-2020 I've seen quite a few videos of bears in people's yards getting scared away by cats and small dogs. RE: WOOOOOO - Rootilda - 08-14-2020 Oops, forgot to post the video. ![]() RE: WOOOOOO - Duchess - 08-14-2020 ![]() RE: WOOOOOO - Clang McFly - 08-14-2020 (08-14-2020, 02:26 PM)Duchess Wrote: Time to bend over & kiss my ass goodbye. ![]() RE: WOOOOOO - MirahM - 08-15-2020 I am most concerned with grizzlies. Black bears I have seen both in urban settings and in the wild. I think the ones near housing developments pose a greater risk because they have become more used to people. RE: WOOOOOO - MirahM - 08-15-2020 That dog rocked! Got lucky with baby bears! RE: WOOOOOO - Carsman - 08-15-2020 (08-15-2020, 12:57 AM)MirahM Wrote: That dog rocked! Got lucky with baby bears! Yep you're right, might not end quite as well when a litter older bear encountered! |
