Idaho's House just passed HB 675. It makes providing gender affirming care to trans teens a felony with a life sentence. Also, it will make leaving the state to move elsewhere in order to provide them with care a felony as well.

Both the pediatrician and obstetrician told me there is absolutely no medical reason for it. So yes, I guess you could consider putting newborns through painful, unnecessary medical procedures as child abuse.

It's perfectly sane as long as they talk out their gender issues with the therapist and psychologist beforehand and are made sure that they understand that once they are changed into the opposite sex, it is damn near irreversible.

I can't answer that because I see it as a "blanket" question. I do believe that a therapist & other psychological resources should be part of the equation.
I'm not speaking to the ridiculous notion that some kids just wake up one day and decide to be trans and their parents take them for hormones or surgery. I don't profess to know much of anything about this subject, but I feel certain that's not how it works.

What do you mean by "blanket question", and why is it you can't answer it?
Is there any reason to think that psychology is less politicized than everything else is? Do you see gender studies as science, i.e., knowledge acquired by means of scientific methodology? Do you think it's acceptable for science to be politicized?
