ZOOMZOOM - Duchess - 01-23-2021 Has anyone driven an RV or something comparable? RE: ZOOMZOOM - sally - 01-23-2021 No but I once drove my husband's f-350 with a 16 ft trailer hooked up to it to the store. Well I drove it there fine, but I couldn't back it out of the parking lot. Some guy backed it out for me. That was rather embarrassing. RE: ZOOMZOOM - BigMark - 01-23-2021 Yeah I was hauling ass with a bunch of buddies, we ended up going through slab city, they freaked the fuck out. RE: ZOOMZOOM - Duchess - 01-23-2021 I've pulled a little 2 horse trailer, but that is so insignificant to what I want to do. RE: ZOOMZOOM - BigMark - 01-23-2021 Short trailers are harder to back up than long ones, that also applies to the wheelbase of the tow vehicle. Remember when backing up a trailer that left is right and right is left. And lay off the Jake brake. RE: ZOOMZOOM - sally - 01-23-2021 That was the first time I ever tried to back up a trailer. And the last. My husband has eight of them that they use for work so I figured how hard could it be. Well it was harder than it looked. I want to go back home and up into Quebec when the border reopens and I want to bring along a couple friends, my treat, but I don't want to spend thousands for hotels & dining. We all would prefer the privacy that an RV would offer. There's more, but you get the idea. RE: ZOOMZOOM - sally - 01-23-2021 Are you buying an RV or just renting one? RE: ZOOMZOOM - Duchess - 01-23-2021 Renting! RE: ZOOMZOOM - Duchess - 01-23-2021 That tickled my funny bone. RE: ZOOMZOOM - sally - 01-23-2021 Well if you do think about buying, I saw a really nice one for $180,000. RE: ZOOMZOOM - Duchess - 01-23-2021 I was looking at some. They are beautiful & modern, all the comforts of home. I feel certain there is a tremendous difference between driving one of those big ass puppies and my sporty little car. RE: ZOOMZOOM - Duchess - 01-23-2021 My fantasy didn't have any filthy, beat up RV's in it. RE: ZOOMZOOM - sally - 01-23-2021 I looked at them and then decided to get a pull behind instead. Mostly because of the money, but also because everything in those piece of shits end up breaking and you have to replace it, even with the top notch ones. |
