I remember that when the early '80's came around. You had to have a note if you were buying liquor for your parents.
Nh changed their cigarette laws in 1988. It didn't matter if you had been smoking since you were 10, all of the sudden, you had to be 18, with an ID. They knew at that point that tobacco was addictive. The law made it so a few of my friends could make decent money during the school year. Meh, I got my ex husband in so much trouble because of that law, I should probably apologize to him

Yes, I'd walk to Bob Moore's corner store and get beer and cigarettes for my mom. The 7⁄11 across the street was stict though and required a note. Bob Moore was a mean old bastard so I preferred going to the 7/11.

The local grocery store owner on the corner of the street I lived on when I was a kid, knew my Mom & Dad, & me.
So My mom told the owner that she would be sending me to buy cigs, and beer
& to sell them to me when ever I came into his store.
As it turned out, I went every afternoon, to buy a bottle of Rheingold, as she drank it every night to go to sleep. Bought cigs every 3 or 4 days, along with the beer.
