I don't like to cook & I wouldn't show up empty handed so I'd probably do something like brownies or cookies simply because either one is very simple and don't require extra dishes/utencils to eat.

Fruit salad. Get a melon baller to scoop the melon out in balls so it looks fancy. You can add different flavors to it as well like lime, mint and a splash of orange liquor to make it mojito style. Or you could make shrimp, crab or pasta salad if you're not into the fruit. Or you could make a big old pot of collard greens and cornbread.

I make a hell of a shrimp salad. It makes a nice platter with assorted fresh garden veggies and pickles and crackers and bread.
