I've never trusted someone & then have it backfire on me...It takes me awhile to come to the decision that someone is honorable but, once there I'm there for the long haul...Someone recently told me that once trust is lost, it is never regained...Is that true ?...Can one ever come back from that ?

Trust can survive nicks and scrapes, but once a deep trust is badly broken, things will never be the same again and rightly so, for only a fool would again deeply trust someone who had consciously and willingly betrayed them.

I have to agree with Syber. Once ddep trust is badly broken, it never comes back all the way. I used to be a very trusting person. But after my trust was abused so many times, I find it difficult to trust people anymore. That said, I am always taken aback by some of the shit that people do. I am basically a good person and it just never occurs to me to do or be as mean and cruel as some people are. Or how easily they lie.

I don't really trust anyone anymore, so this isn't a problem for me.

Trust... I dunno. It depends on if they broke it unwittingly, or deceptively.

Good point. If someone deliberately violates my trust it hurts a lot more.

NO. Period.

There will always be a little voice of 'suspicion' in your head wondering if you're being lied to or cheated.

A person can nick (as Syber says) the surface of trust but it still gives the same results. You always will be suspicious.

You can trust me Duchess. I swear all I want to give you is a back rub. That is it. Now please slowly remove your clothing and lie down so I can start. You can trust me.......

I pretty much never trust anyone. Alot of the time I'll go along with stuff as if I do trust the person, but I'll almost always have a backup plan because I don't completely trust them.

I'm optimistic and pessimistic at the same time.
