Have you ever been to a hot pot restaurant? - sally - 04-26-2022
It's fun. You pick the broth you want and they put the pot in a special heater on your table so it's always boiling. Then everything from vegetables, to noodles, to seafood, to steak, to chicken comes around on a conveyer belt that you can pick and choose from to add to your soup. What I wonder though is what the hell that conveyor belt is made from.

No, I haven't and this is the first time I'm ever hearing of one.
I'm not a foodie like some of you are so it's not surprising I wouldn't have heard of this type of restaurant.

I just recently heard about it too, but they are becoming more common. Orlando has 20 different hot pot restaurants. The one we went to has a little robot named Peanut that takes you to your seat and brings you ice cream at the end. And if you walk in front of him he says "move out of my way, you are making me angry".

I want one! I'd take it everywhere. I'd even get a booster seat for in my car so everyone could see my passenger.

He actually does free up the wait staff too because he seats you with your utensils and brings dessert and the check.

Yeah, we have a similar restaurant here called the “Melting Pot”. It’s been here for years. You actually cook your own food on the table, to add to soup or just eat it separately.
The only bad thing is that your clothes get the smell of cooking smoke on them.
