There hath he lain for ages - Tyr - 01-30-2023
God help all here.
I was passing a monitor elsewhere around noon. Local noon, that is. Not one of my monitors, some stranger's laptop screen. I saw the Mock logo, that bit in blue at the top, and I knew. There might be people reading who met me online back a while. I didn't speak, carried on walking, stored it up for later.
So this is later.
The avatar hasn't had use for a decade but it goes with the username. The username goes with me. I have absolutely no idea who is even alive still, or who posts on forums at all. I don't Facebook or tiktok - I'm the wrong shape if nothing else - or tweet. I expect I have a Mastodon account in preparation for the apocalypse, in the Preparations Diary. And I registered on the Trump platform and maintained a Zen-like presence which nobody noticed. That's a thing about online Zen.

Nothing so embarrassing. I migrated.
It''s a European tradition to head toward the setting sun. One tribe moves, pushes into the range of the next one west, kills a few and enslaves whoever else didn't flee fast enough. The survivors keep retreating until they hit the Atlantic coast and there they have to stop, backs to the wall. Depending on which side of the Bristol Channel they flee, their descendants end up either Welsh or Cornish. Either way they build stone circles, mark the solstices and wait out the remainder of history serving cream teas to holiday-makers.
And that, in a nutshell, covers my last ten years. It's a really odd part of the world, there's a time gradient, I'm back in the 1970s but with broadband.
