SOCIAL MEDIA - Duchess - 03-08-2023

Do you think social media should be held liable for harming children?

RE: SOCIAL MEDIA - crash - 03-08-2023

If children come to harm from social media, their parents/guardians should be held accountable for letting them be exposed to it, as equally as social media should be for providing a platform for harm.

No.  I don't.

(Side note:  Glad to see you got your groove back.  You are far more readable using your signature font and script.)

People are letting kids use a smartphone as a babysitter.

It's designed to be addictive, for adults and children alike. Addiction and responsibility are like oil and water: they don't mix. Everyone has responsibility, but like everything else in this world, it's not equal.

You owe me two cents. Blowing-kisses

RE: SOCIAL MEDIA - crash - 03-08-2023

Do you still have pennies? Our smallest denomination is a five cent coin. There is talk of it disappearing too.

I'm not rothschild. I'm Captain Obvious. Sarcastic Yes, we still have pennies. Many places where change is given have a bowl beside the cash register where most people throw their pennies. Not many people want them.

RE: SOCIAL MEDIA - Duchess - 03-08-2023

I wouldn't throw money away. *shakes head*

And here I was thinking Australian sensibility is an oxymoron.

RE: SOCIAL MEDIA - crash - 03-08-2023

I read a while ago about a country, can’t remember which, that was debating getting rid of coins altogether. That would suit me, they’re a pain in the arse. I have jars all around the freaking house that I put loose change in. About once a year or so, I take them to the pub and cash them all in. The pub guy loves it, it actually costs him money to order change

RE: SOCIAL MEDIA - sally - 03-08-2023

I hate change. I have two 5 gallon jugs that you use for a water cooler filled with it. I can't even move them. I bought a coin sorter that puts it into rolls and use it occasionally.

Ironically, it costs about 2.5 cents to make a penny.

And, if I remember correctly, about 8 cents to make a nickel.

The taxes collected on monetary exchange more than make up for it, which illustrates the difference between cost and value.

I think a certain political party blames everyone but the people responsible.

Social media harms children?  Let's blame social media,  instead of parents.
Mass shooting?  Let's blame guns, instead of the person pulling the trigger.
Addiction?  Let's blame the drug/doctors,  instead of the consumer.
Everything we perceive to be wrong with America?  Let's blame trump,  instead of the political party who keeps telling us that we shouldn't think for ourselves.

Yeah,  trump is off his rocker,  but so is Biden and the rest of the dems.  Why the fuck do we need a nanny state?  If America as a whole,  can't raise people to think for themselves,  instead of quoting a democrat , then Darwin should take over and we deserve what we get.
