BOARD GAMES - Duchess - 10-19-2024

Is this something that people still do? Do you play any?

RE: BOARD GAMES - MirahM - 10-19-2024

Yes. I am trying to set up a "Cards against Humanity" night. I enjoy playing games. Especially in the winter. There is a group that plays pinochle, but I won't join, that game is too much for me.

Monopoly and Cards Against Humanity.

RE: BOARD GAMES - aussiefriend - 10-21-2024

I wish we still did all that stuff. I have a board game Monopoly Beatles. Aussie Jnr lives in her bedroom. Only comes out to eat and go to the toilet and borrow my car.

RE: BOARD GAMES - MirahM - 10-25-2024

Telestrations is such a fun game. Played it last night.
It is like pictionary combined with telephone.

We also played banana grams. That game is fun too.

RE: BOARD GAMES - sally - 10-25-2024

Oregon Trail is a fun board game.

Even more fun if you take laxatives while playing it, to simulate all the dysentery I keep dying of.

RE: BOARD GAMES - sally - 10-25-2024

It's a fun drinking game too because it goes quick, sometimes you drop dead from something horrific on the first play.

RE: BOARD GAMES - cannongal - 10-25-2024

The grandbrats regularly play Monopoly, ticket to ride and risk. They also play Uno, Skipbo , and rummy. They love game nights and they are all in high school.

RE: BOARD GAMES - aussiefriend - 10-27-2024

I read a book about the Oregon Trail when I was at school. It was long and people kept dying of dysentry. Tough times back then, that's if the Indians didn't get you.

RE: BOARD GAMES - sally - 10-27-2024

Actually many Indians were killed too. Mostly by the emigrants bringing their bullshit diseases with them while trying to convert them into Christianity.

RE: BOARD GAMES - MirahM - 10-28-2024

Played Telestrations again tonight. It was fun. Tomorrow night is movie night. I don't know if I can handle all of this social activity. The last of the seasonal employees are leaving this week.

there is so much I have never heard about your history. Those ones who turned into cannibals was really a sad sordid tale. I had never heard of that.

It is interesting how we look at those good intentions back them to convert these people to Christianity was really in fact harmful to them and their communities. It's the same here in Australia.

RE: BOARD GAMES - BigMark - 11-02-2024

The immense wealth of the vatican was provided by inhumane and barbaric acts of Portugal and Spain when they divided the entire non christian world between themselves in 1494 giving a portion of the spoils to the pope.

RE: BOARD GAMES - aussiefriend - 11-02-2024

I'd say you are swamped with catholicism over there in Portugal old Mark?

RE: BOARD GAMES - BigMark - 11-02-2024

Ayup, and history.

RE: BOARD GAMES - aussiefriend - 11-02-2024

The history aspect of catholicism is interesting. I'm just not a fan on all the cult stuff.

Yeah I'm kinda glad I'm out of the cult. I still like thsir worship music though.

RE: BOARD GAMES - aussiefriend - 11-05-2024

Yes, I have the Irish history so a long catholic background. I made sure mum had a full catholic funeral, no mass though, it was during COVID and there were restrictions here in Australia.

Mum is buried too. I think catholics are against cremation. It's better going to visit mum in the graveyard anyway and I know she is there.

There is many beautiful things about Catholicism Clang. Look at their churches. All their art, it truly is beautiful. I love the chants and singing of the monks.

The Church of the Holy Seplechre is shared by the Catholics. I did a virtual reality thing with Aussie Jnr's expensive virtual glasses. So I put them on in her room. went into the grave of Jesus. It is the most beautiful gravesite on Earth. Truly. It is decorated all around, and the adornments are all so old and magnificent.

Ok I'll stop talking.

Aussie invited me to that and I went. It was a beautiful service. Aussie sang.  Smiley_emoticons_smile
