I'm asking because I'm pretty much an introvert who was subjected to an office party last weekend, a wedding today, a party tomorrow and another wedding next weekend. The worst part is I barely know these people.

I'm definitely a social introvert, but if I have to go to shit like that I become an instant extrovert and I want all of the attention.
Most of the time though I just tell the truth and say I won't be there or I'm not going.

At least they have booze at weddings.
At least they only play, "I'm Proud To Be An American" on Memorial Day.
That's all I have for now. (I'm also shy. I like most people so I get over it in about 15 minutes or after the first drink. You don't want people to think you are a bitch.)

Thank God for separate cars. I bailed on the wedding (my husband is still there). First off, it was an outdoor wedding but the weather didn't cooperate and it's raining here. My husband told me there were going to be fire dancers (I immediately pictured men dancing around with Bic lighters but noooo....) apparently, these people attend the annual burning man festivities and actually take this stuff seriously.
My shoes gave me a blister, it was cold and I had to leave. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
