If the Pentagon requested 7 billion to try and turn lead into gold, I wonder if it would get approved.

Do you think the supercollider was built just to shoot a beam of energy around a loop?

it's a simple difference of a few molecules between the two metals (protons) 79 and 82.

So all of you people are OK with your government spending your tax dollars to create a gay bomb?

I haven't had a chance to read it yet, Dick, I'll try to get to it by the end of the day. Jeez.

"The Ohio Air Force lab proposed that a bomb be developed that contained a chemical that would cause enemy soldiers to become gay, and to have their units break down because all their soldiers became irresistibly attractive to one another," Hammond said after reviewing the documents.

Dick has done thorough research into this and found his Aramis to be the most effective. He is upset that the project was cancelled after buying up Aramis stock based on an insider trading tip from his best buddy Glenn Beck. But now he and Glenn have a lifetime supply, so it's serendipity.

I'd pitch in a couple of hundred bucks if they'd test it on you and OP and I could watch (for like a nano-second).

He had a drink and doused himself with Aramis. He is down at the park cruising the urinals.

Wut? (Please don't try to explain further, I understand the number of protons in the nucleus of an atom determines what element it is.)

Are there people in America who think we build particle accelerators and super colliders for alchemy experiments? (The Bevatron is totally gone, a parking lot now, and the Tevatron will be shut down later this year. If CERN doesn't maintain funding, the Large Hadron Colllider will be shut down a lot longer than a year and a half.) We use acclerators/colliders for particle physics.

Can we knock a few protons around and force lead to turn into gold? Yeah, we can do that. Why don't we? Because it is fucking expensive to make gold one atom at a time. And then there is the large amount of energy released and radiation, and shit like that.

Jesus Christ.

Our weapons labs have a lot of space-based high energy weaponry and weapons that can blind or deafen or otherwise disable entire armies. We could maim entire countries and wreck their economies by forcing them to care for their wounded masses if we were to unleash what we have. It is much more evil to disable large numbers people than it is to kill them. Most of these weapons, including the gay bomb, are against the Geneva Convention. And everyone would hate us more so we wouldn't be able to smoke pot in Amsterdam again. Why fuck up a good thing?
