Kowtowing to the powers that be - Cheyne - 07-28-2011 Good afternoon all, my name is Cheyne. I came to this forum to get more information on Wendall Noyes. Looks like a decent place to hang out, so I decided to stick around. I like aged steak cooked blue, strong coffee and a smoke in the morning. I hate stupid people, but will tolerate the ignorant if they are educating themselves. I am not witty, but can appreciate it in others. I am more of a lurker than a poster, but will come out of the woodwork if I feel strongly about something. ATL has a great steakhouse in Buckhead, but it's pricey. I always feel like an asshole when the waiter fawns too much, and they always do at nice places. I have a friend who ages his beef himself but it scares me. One day too long or two degrees off and that isn't safe to eat. If you really think about, meat is disgusting. We age beef to counteract postmortem muscle biochemistry (Rigor Mortis). That's effen nassy. If you are going to eat good cow, go to one of the slaughter/char/eat cattleman's places. And I live half a mile from a pig farm/slaughter house. Fresh bacon, no preservatives. Thick sliced. Yum. Smoking will kill you. We don't use hormone implants, and our cattle are pastured in the summer and fed hay and corn in the winter. A "blue" steak is one that is only seared on the outside. There is no running blood when one cuts into it as the blood is still congealed in the meat. I found this site by following a link posted at Statement Analysis. I am interested in true crime and have been since the early '70's when Ted Bundy was active in Washington and Oregon. I was only a kid at the time, but I remember the newspaper articles about the missing young women. And yes, smoking will kill you. |
