He was hitting her hard and got super pissed that she wouldn't bend over the bed.
I've been known to fuck a kid up for ditching school, but damn, not like that. That was a beating, not a spanking.
I have never asked a kid to bend over to get spanked. Standing up is just fine if it gets to that point. I can count on one hand how many times I had to get the belt. I don't believe in hitting little kids at all, they can't escape. Younger kids (five to ten) usually do fine with a single pop on the butt, maybe three. Anything more than that and you are treading dangerous territory. Big kids need an adjustment once a year or so, but not in a subservient position.
He should have just taken the computer away or put a parental control on it. Much easier than beating someone.
Don't expect mercy in his courtroom.
His side, because there are always two sides:

She did make it worse by not following instructions (that is what pissed him off) and she is a vindictive shit for keeping that video for seven years. I don't think she'd get any more money from me after posting that, but it was still a beating. He beat her and she grew up to be an asshole. That is justice.

Duchess is just perfect! Are you the baby of the family? I am. By the time I was in High School my parents were good and broken in and I got a car and no curfew and could pretty much do what I wanted. Of course I had a job, was a cheerleader, and got good grades though. But I was a Daddy's girl through and through. I miss him.

Spanking and Beating are two completely different things.
There is nothing wrong with spanking a child, I spanked mine when they were young and they both turned out to be Very Fine people. Neither one got spanked after the age of 5 or 6, didn't need it.
My parents beat the shit out of us with a belt, I finally had enough and bounced the step dad off a wall when I was 14, that was the end of that.
Your correct that there is never an excuse for Abusing a child, but a spanking is not abuse. The video in question is way beyond spanking and most definately abuse

The girl has a civil case for cruel and unreasonable punishment. Deserves a monetary settlement against her tormentor. A sizable one that would move the house into her name and let her father feel the insecurity of the threat of loss of home and safety.
