Ignorance is no excuse - IMaDick - 01-05-2012 Or so they say, but how in the hell is the average citizen supposed to keep up with this shit? 40,000 new laws went into effect january 1st. http://infofeeder.info/latest-information/37332-40000-new-laws-went-into-effect-jan-1-2012-lunaticoutpost-forum RE: Ignorance is no excuse - username - 01-05-2012 There ought to be a law against so many new laws. I'm not sure which cities in California will be affected but the latest trend is making plastic bags illegal (okay, "banning" them). I wonder if it will be a minor ticket or jail time for possession of a plastic bag. The cali environmentalists that fucked the timber industry are responsible for plastic bags, I was pretty pissed when paper bags went away. do you remember being asked at checkout paper or plastic? we went from biodegradeable paper to 1000 year plastic in our landfills and along our roadways, those stupid fuckers who pushed that shit should be sued and made to clean that shit up. RE: Ignorance is no excuse - QueenBee - 01-05-2012 I do not know if this is just in NY..but I know there is chatter about making a law to completly ban cell phone use in cars...even hands free as it is all considered "distracted driving". I do not talk on the phone while driving anyway, but I do not think this could be enforced. Especially the hands free thing...I mean if you look at the person in the next car, talking..are they talking to a kid in the car you cannot see..or singing along to the radio? Or taking on their bluetooth? And what is so different between talking hands free or talking to your passenger in the car? Or the idiots who I see putting on makeup, reading the paper...or eating a bowl of oatmeal (for real, I saw that). There are so many things that are equally as distracting. Good point. We still have the option of paper but what some cities are doing is banning the plastic and charging for paper bags ($.05 or $.10 a bag, I think). Obviously, they're trying to force people to carry the reusable bags. RE: Ignorance is no excuse - IMaDick - 01-05-2012 They might get the blue hairs to carry those bags but most of the younger generation isn't going to carry a cloth bag that says dollar store on it. RE: Ignorance is no excuse - Duchess - 01-05-2012 I have some of those reusable bags in the trunk of my car, I always forget to take them in. Nope...I'm going to hell in a hand basket. RE: Ignorance is no excuse - sally - 01-05-2012 I already break the old laws, what the fuck do I care about the new ones. I like how you have defied the law of gravity. Thanks for that! RE: Ignorance is no excuse - SIXFOOTERsez - 01-05-2012 I use the cloth bags now and then, when i remember. Ireland implemented an effective program. They started charging 25cents per plastic bag and expected 3 million in revenue first quarter. End of q1 they had 300k and suddenly no bag litter. Seemed to work out well. People are pigs, i hate litterbugs RE: Ignorance is no excuse - ramseycat - 01-05-2012 I have a few reusable bags but I always forget to use them too. I always use the plastic grocery bags as liners in the waste baskets in the bedrooms and bathrooms and when I scoop out the litter box. I use them to bring stuff to work too like water or a box of crackers and the ever fabulous RICE CAKES!! I am not really a fan of paper bags because if something leaks it gets everywhere. Plus they are difficult to reuse. RE: Ignorance is no excuse - Adub - 01-05-2012 Kids in California have to be 80 lbs before legal without a car seat. How embarrassing is that? 80 lbs is a friggn 5th grader! What 5th grader wants to be seen buckling into a carseat? RE: Ignorance is no excuse - Maggot - 01-05-2012 Sally just puts stuff in her pockets. Breaking laws just like snapping a geeks neck. |
