Andrew Ngalahom, 6. GA found safe - Lady Cop - 02-02-2012 this is third missing child today. i don't think it's going to end as well as the other two. daddy has just been taken into police dept. CLAYTON COUNTY, GA (CBS ATLANTA) - It has been more than 24 hours since Andrew Ngalahom, 6, was last seen in his neighborhood. On Wednesday around 2:30 p.m., investigators with the Clayton County Police Department said Andrew was seen walking north on Heatherwood Lane, away from his home. It wasn't until around 8:30 a.m. Wednesday that police said they got a call Andrew was missing. "We have officers in the department searching door to door, checking drains, sheds, around homes trying to make contact with this child," said Sergeant Otis WIllis. "We are sparing no resource to find this child." Neighbors said Andrew would play outside near his home. "Nice little kid, smart, he has good sense," said neighbor Christopher Cooper. "We see him playing out there with the kids and stuff, but he never really comes down this way unless he is with his father." One neighbor Clifford Christian said he saw Andrew yesterday morning around 8:30 a.m. "He was outside playing the front yard, we talked to him my son said hello to him, he walked off, we came back and that was the last time I've seen him," said Christian. "I asked him why he didn't go to school and he never answered my question." Andrew's father has been questioned multiple times by police. During the search he was sitting outside on his front porch crying and slamming his hand on the concrete. A friend of the family, Tasha Greer, was asked about Andrew's father, but she got quiet and said she did not want to comment. "We need to find Andrew, we are concerned," said Greer. Greer said Andrew's father called police this morning when he realized his son was missing. Investigators have not told CBS Atlanta News where he was from the time his son went missing to the time he called police. There is nearly an 18 hour gap for Andrew from the time he went missing to the time his father realized it. HUH?? Greer said he has lived with his father for at least 2 years. Andrew was last seen wearing possibly a grey hoodie and jeans. He is four feet tall and weighs roughly 90 to 100 pounds. If you see Andrew please call Clayton County Police at 678-449-4089. Channel 2 was on the scene when police escorted the missing boy's father from their home to conduct an interview about the case. neighbor said she saw the boy crying the day before because "daddy wouldn't wake up". Early Friday, Andrew's father, Moses Ngalahom, was booked into the Clayton County Jail, charged with contributing to the delinquency/deprivation of a minor. The boy was in the care of the state Division of Family and Children Services, according to Channel 2. Investigators told Channel 2 Action News a family member in Barrow County picked up Andrew Ngalahom on Wednesday because they said the child’s father was intoxicated. More than 100 investigators from Clayton County, Fayette County and the FBI spent the afternoon Thursday canvassing Ngalahom's neighborhood looking for him. Channel 2 Action News cameras were there when police took Andrew’s father to the Clayton County Police Department on Thursday afternoon. “The father, who was possibly under the influence, was unable to tell us that the child has been with the niece for two days,” Clayton County police Maj. He was arrested late Thursday and charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor after reporting his son, Andrew Ngalahom, missing. Andrew was later found safe. The child is now in state custody, pending an investigation. Georgia Department of Family and Child Services spokeswoman Ravae Graham would not discuss the case. "He reported his son missing Thursday morning," Clayton County police spokeswoman Lt. Tina Daniel told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. "He said he hadn't seen his son since Wednesday." "There does appear that there were significant signs of intoxication" on the father's part, Daniel said. Ngalahom told officers he had last seen his son playing outside their Riverdale home at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, police said. The father said he fell asleep and awoke to find the child missing. A family member in Barrow County contacted authorities after seeing a missing child report on TV news and told them Ngalahom had released his son into her care earlier, police said. Ngalahom did not recall the relative picking up the child, they said. Ngalahom has been arrested twice before, on family battery charges. On Feb. 26, 2006, he was accused of punching his wife in the eye during an altercation, then taking her purse and leaving their Riverdale apartment. He was arrested and released on $7,000 bond, eventually pleading down from battery and theft charges to disorderly conduct. One condition of Ngalahom's six-month probation was that he have no contact with his victim. But he had that condition changed by citing his desire to continue to live with his wife and his infant son, according to court documents. On July 9, 2009, Ngalahom was again charged with battery, for allegedly biting a woman. It is unclear from court records whether the woman was his wife. He was sentenced to 12 months' probation for that offense. Ngalahom is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on the latest charge Feb. 20
