Remember when...? - HairOfTheDog - 06-02-2012

We're all gettin' older; every minute of every day. May as well embrace it and practice for the real golden years. While I do not remember the days when a candy bar was a penny and gas was 10 cents a gallon, I do sometimes find myself thinking, " I remember when..." with fondness.

I remember when:
You could leave the house and automatically enter into a peaceful no-hassle zone. Totally out of commission; off the hook. Just doin' your own thing, all by yourself: driving, shopping, walking around - no way anyone could reach you and you couldn't get spanked for not being accesible 24/7. Damn cell phones. Old

Remember when???...

I remember when there were 3 TV networks and they played the national anthem at midnight or 1 am and signed off the air until they played the national anthem again at 5am to sign back on. They also were proud subscribers to the National Television Code of Ethics where no matter what the story content the bad guy never got away.

RE: Remember when...? - Ma Huang Sor - 06-03-2012

I remember when a weeks worth of groceries cost 20 dollars for a family of 4. 8 bags stuffed with stuff.

Me too.

I remember when I could remember almost everything without hesitation. Now, I forget that my sunglasses are on my head half of the time. 50

I've done that an embarrassing number of times. I mutter Jesus Christ to myself as I attempt to backtrack and figure out where they are.

Not to make light of his assassination at all but that's a very cool memory to have.

RE: Remember when...? - HairOfTheDog - 06-03-2012

I remember when telling someone I wanted a bologna sandwich wasn't interpreted as desiring sex with two men at the same time. Damn internet pornography.

RE: Remember when...? - IMaDick - 06-03-2012

I can remember when a thread like this would have gotten the OP ripped a new asshole for being a soup chickeny bitch.

I remember when Dick was coherent enough to know the definition of soup chickeny.

This thread might be considered nostalgic, but not soup chickeny. Damn dementia-ridden old coot. Old

RE: Remember when...? - IMaDick - 06-03-2012

Some supercilious bitches have changed the definition of soup chicken, trust me when I tell you this is a soup chicken thread and would have in the past got the OP ripped, shredded and turned under in a heart beat.

I'm sorta tough, Dick. Do you wanna rip, shred and turn me under? Follow your heart beat to a blast from the past: ready, set, go...

In my minds eye I sometimes see him as Yosemite Sam...very indignant & jumping around showing his displeasure.
