Freedom thread - Maggot - 07-01-2012

One way to chip away at the freedom you enjoy is to force a person to buy a toll transponder that is actually a tracking device. Take a way the ability to pay a toll with cash and most cars will have to get the transponder. This is the road we are headed.

Jesus, those are dead end tourist attraction rides. Both are essentially dirt trails to get to the top of the mountain. They're not part of any road system, nor can you use them to get anywhere except that specific destination.

What do you think, we're New Hampsters or something?

RE: Freedom thread - IMaDick - 07-01-2012

Guess where you can't go when you have any of these items.

Prohibited Items
Prohibited items include, but are not limited to, the following:

•Cameras or Video Recorders
•Handbags, book bags, backpacks or purses
•Food or beverages, tobacco products, personal grooming items (i.e. makeup, lotion, etc.)
•Strollers
•Any pointed objects
•Aerosol containers
•Guns, ammunition, fireworks, electric stun guns, mace, martial arts weapons/devices, or knives of any size
The U.S. Secret Service reserves the right to prohibit any other personal items. Umbrellas, wallets, car keys, and cell phones (including those with cameras) are permitted. However, guests will not be allowed to use cell phones inside the White House. Phones used inside the White House may be confiscated by US Secret Service.

Of course, Onstar, onboard GPS mapping planners and every fucking smartphone on the planet don't already have the ability to track our every move...oh, wait.

RE: Freedom thread - Duchess - 07-01-2012

I'm more concerned with online nutjobs watching every move I make in cyberspace/Mock than I am concerned with the Feds tracking me.

RE: Freedom thread - OnBendedKnee - 07-01-2012

^
That is more realistic.
To think the "Government" gives two twits about what we as individuals are legally doing on a daily basis is both narcissistic and delusional.

RE: Freedom thread - Riotgear - 07-01-2012

Could someone please explain what we're all free to do/our freedom? Great, TIA.

RE: Freedom thread - Carsman - 07-01-2012

I've had an "E-Z-Pass" (transponder) for many years now. I got it because I had to travel over the Whitestone Bridge frequently. And going on the "cash" toll lines took forever, you had to try to pull over to the extreme right 2 lanes. (Difficult) Not to mention they preferred exact toll, or small bills for them to change. If you used anything larger then a $5, they took forever to give you change, and then they always gave back 19 "singles". hah

Anyway, over time, they made more & more tolls E-Z-Pass, even branching out to the NJ Tpk, & GS Pkway, plus now most, if not all tolls in the tri state area are E-Z-Pass. It is kinda convient.
Yes they can & do track my travels, but it is convienent, & it is convienent, & it is convienent, & it is con . . . . . . .

Of course that must be it.

Fear.

it's such a great word for a coward to use.
