ESTATE SALES & FLEA MARKETS - Duchess - 10-19-2012

Do any of you like to do these things on the weekend?

Ill go sometimes if I'm looking for something to do but I know several people that actively seek them out and will drive an hour or two to go to one. I don't think I've ever been to an estate sale but I've been to a few flea markets.

I used to go to flea markets periodically. It was sort of like a treasure hunt. I was always hoping to spot some rare antique or something (maybe a beautiful piece of wood furniture covered in paint) but I wouldn't know that type of thing if it bit me on my ass. Everything just looked like junk to me (maybe it was).

I've never been to an estate sale. I've thought about stopping driving by one but I assume that they're typically held because someone died. The idea of picking through some dead person's stuff is sort of a turn off.

The estate sales that I've been to have been set up like an auction. I wouldn't want to pick through anyone's stuff either. *ick*

I go now and then, problem down here is the hatiens, they are the worlds cockroaches. They will gather up 12 pairs of expensive shoes in a bag and offer a quarter for it. People for the most parts here don't have the kind of shit I am looking for
