JOURNALISTS WITH INTEGRITY - Duchess - 11-24-2012 With all the controversy over media bias, it seems two journalists have finally taken a stand -- on air. The longest running news team in Bangor, Maine, resigned at the end of their Tuesday evening broadcast, to the shock of staff and viewers, later telling the Bangor Daily News that management prevented them from running a balanced newsroom. Cindy Michaels and Tony Consiglio have been anchors at ABC affiliate WVII and Fox affiliate WFVX in Bangor for six years, but claimed that the owners and managers had been increasingly intervening in their newscasts over the last four, reports the Bangor newspaper. Story RE: JOURNALISTS WITH INTEGRITY - Sphincter Cop - 11-24-2012 I have to say “Good For Them” and truly mean it. The media has become an opportunistic predator that has greatly impacted our culture in a negative aspect. These organizations have lost their moral compass in reporting stories in every format from a neutral perspective. Reporters usually lack the knowledge of the subject matter they are reporting, and it is edited to create more sensationalism for the mere garner of ratings over ethics. Working in the legal field, being a celebrity, or knowing the facts of a particular story as a viewer is proof enough. I cannot even think of a national or local news organization that doesn’t demonstrate this on a daily basis. Our culture has lost the idea of accountability since the old adage of checks and balances have been thrown out the window. Just my opinion………….. RE: JOURNALISTS WITH INTEGRITY - username - 11-25-2012 That's awesome! I love that they did it together. RE: JOURNALISTS WITH INTEGRITY - DMP - 12-05-2012 Did anyone see the NY Post cover story which had a picture of a man who was crushed seconds later by a subway train. The photog was a freelance photog. that says he was running towards the train flashing his camera to get attn. of train operator. Amazingly, with all that running he still managed a photo of the guy right before impact. The man killed was pushed onto the tracks by a mentally ill fellow rider. Ironic item: I was standing on the same platform waiting for the same train the day before. RE: JOURNALISTS WITH INTEGRITY - Duchess - 12-05-2012 I saw the pix & I saw him interviewed earlier this morning. |
