FEBRUARY LASTS EIGHT WEEKS - Duchess - 01-19-2013

Winter hasn't been awful but it's not outdoor living weather either. I don't see the light at the end of the tunnel :(

What do you do during the winter months? Ski? Do you even have any snow?

February lasts 12 weeks up here. For fun we chop and stack wood. Occasionally we get to play 'chase the moose' 2 years ago the boys built a giant catapult-the idea (or so they told me) was to try and throw a giant snowball over the river. Unfortunately, they used a neighbors kid. Kid went flying through the air, as his mom pulls up looking for him. Kid made it all the way across the river, though, he was never allowed over the house again for some reason.

Good times. hah

...not kidding. It sounds like fun. I'd be chasing it with my camera.

I try to hibernate during the winter. I can bearly stand this time of year.

Once the days get a little longer about the 20th of next month I'll be OK on the warmer days.

We don't really get much winter but rain and cold. I already see the days getting longer and while it's been cold, it still seems like a mild winter so far. No complaints here.

It is bang-smack right in the middle of summer here. I have just have a few days off now and am going to hit the beach. Will take some pics and hopefully that will warm you up.

Fucking -3 here this morning. Ass on couch, ready for playoff football. No wonder I've put on 5 lbs. Really dont do shit during the winter except count the days till spring.

I don't like the dog days of winter either, especially with no snow on the ground.

Tomorrow, here in Minneapolis, we will have our first sub-zero high temperature in 4 years.

We like to call it 'character building'.

Most everyone else just says we're nuts.

We are supposed to get real cold here later this week. My nephew sent me a pic if the truck with a slight dusting of snow on it. Schools in Alabama were closed. I said that wouldn't even rate a plow or shoveling here.

I don't mind the snow & cold as long as there is something to do in it, skiing, tubing, stuff like that.

RE: FEBRUARY LASTS EIGHT WEEKS - HairOfTheDog - 01-20-2013

It's been extremely cold here in the mornings, but warm and sunny enough in the afternoon that we're doing a barbecue play off party later today. So, can't complain about this February, but we don't get the beauty of snow nor much in the way of changing seasons/foliage here either.

Northwest Ohio it has been non-stop winds making it feel even colder, Monday and Tuesday night will be very cold around 6 degrees, hope people will remember their animals.

I wents snowmobiling on the trails in Bear brook yesterday and today I went sliding in a huge tractor trailer inner tube on the hill at the golf coarse. I kinda like winter but really miss skiing. I do not trust myself anymore.

I made a big caterpult once but never thought of sticking a kid in it.hah It only went about 30 ft enough to launch a gallon of gas in a milk jug at a bonfire.

We're going to Cranmore next weekend-the boys want to try snowboarding. I'll stick with the snow tubing-less chance of breaking my neck.

The boys are never allowed to make another catapult again. They destroyed my winch, about $100.00 worth of ratchet straps, and a dog house.

That's one winter outdoor activity that I really enjoy. Toe rope is mandatory though.
