BLU-RAY PLAYERS - Duchess - 03-26-2013

Do you have one? Is there a noticeable difference between blu-ray and a regular DVD player?

We have one. My husband claims he can tell a difference, I can't. Looks the same on the normal DVD as it does on the Blu Ray to me.

There is definitely a difference... but make sure you're watching on a hi-def TV. A blu ray being shown on a standard tv won't look different from a standard dvd.

Blu Ray on a 52" Sony HD looks a hell of a lot better than most rigs.
For <$100 you can get one with Netflix built in, Way nice setup

My interest in the blu-ray stems from wanting to go all wireless in my home.

I fucked up when I bought the last two flat screens. I thought I had done my homework and I did but not on the most important thing of all. Every time I would walk through the den and see the crisp, clear picture on the monster tv I would wonder why the other tv's didn't look like that, they have a nice picture but it's not flawless perfection. I started blaming it on the receiver but it's not that at all, the biggest flat screen is a plasma and the others are LED or LCD or whatever the hell they are called. There is a tremendous difference in picture quality between the two.

I do not watch or buy enough DVDs to justify running out and buying a blue ray player. Watch most of my stuff off the web, or on demand on TV.
