Thanks for gathering so much info on this case LC. The CO posts such bullshit! I'm not interested in the sobbing neighbors' gifts of teddy bears and flowers-just tell the public wtf is going on!! Believe me, I know this investigation is active and not everything pertaining can be released, but to avoid looking like a bunch of yahoos scrambling around a case that looks like it's going nowhere, the Hickory PD needs to say something to the public.
And in all honesty, I just want to know. lol I work in the field and thankfully this case isn't in my jurisdiction, so not knowing what is going on is driving me CRAZY!
I'm new to this forum, but not-so-new to the discussion of the Zahra Baker disappearance. While there are plenty of worries about the child and the guilt of her good-for-nothing "guardians," I can't help but question the methods and practices of law enforcement investigators in this case.
Has anyone else thought it was odd that, after the most suspicious fucking circumstances bring police and fire to the Baker home, the police never thought about securing the scene of the fire/so-called kidnapping? I drove by the house a few times last week and the property and surrounding area was full of people, people contaminating a crime scene. Then the cops go in there and search for evidence on FRIDAY?! A fucking work week after the kid was reported missing amid peculiar circumstances that included a RANSOM note? There's no telling how much evidence went down the toilet or into the chipper between police visits.
If the police think a contaminated crime scene is going to yield an airtight case for our idiot DA, I fear they are sorely mistaken. Their job gets even more difficult if there's no body. No body means no murder and that equals law-breaking, drug using, child abusing trailer trash walking back among us, like all the other loser criminals that leave the revolving door at the county jail/courthouse.
It's a shame, isn't it? Because that's exactly what will happen. Because we're not involved in the investigation, we're not privvy to the majority of the info, but based on the info that has been released, the HPD seemed to have dropped the ball from the get-go.
Vote, i made you a member also. good post, and although i am prejudiced in favor of police, i do feel there was a problem at scene of fire. but no 'kidnapping' was reported until next day. and a defense attny. will have a field day with contamination issues. sadly.
a conviction can be obtained w/o a body, but of course it's better to have some evidence of cause and manner of death.
all i can say, since i don't want to judge the police, is they have to be holding info back so as not to taint a jury pool.
the only good thing in public domain now is that she admitted to writing ransom note. there is NO WAY to explain that except complicity. i still think she'll throw her husband under the bus too.
Thanks for the awesome updates. I think time will expose these two liars, but who knows how long that will take. Why don't these two just give it up and confess already. i think everyone needs to be prepared for the possibilty little Zahra will never be found. so all they can do is play those parents against each other until someone spills their guts. there is a reason the father has not been arrested on outstanding warrant(s). he's being played. hell, he could be all over the internet reading theories and opinions and planning his story/demeanor. i want to know if he's taken a polygraph. but that may never be known unless it leaks.

(CNN) -- North Carolina authorities have been in contact with Zahra Baker's biological mother in Australia and have asked for the medical records of the missing 10-year-old girl.
"We're in the process of getting medical information from Australia and we're in the process of getting medical records here," said Clyde Deal, the deputy police chief of Hickory, North Carolina, on Monday.
Officials did not specify what kind of medical records they were seeking. But often, investigators ask for access to dental records for help with identification of bodies.
i don't know what records she would have since reports say she hasn't seen Zahra since she was 8 months old. but the grandmother essentially raised Zahra and probably has records. i'd be shocked if they have an intact body and skull to compare dental records. they wouldn't still be doing ground searches.
btw, in the Hickory paper the REV claims he is "above reproach". i suppose that was some other guy whose record i posted. what a coincidence! the money just keeps on pouring in folks, i think he has 7 donations so far to pay for the police "resources" and funeral. only the police have disassociated themselves from any connection to the fund.

A reader e-mailed the Record saying Greeson was in court in 2006 for obtaining property under false pretenses. Records show the two charges were pleaded. A third charge was dismissed.
The writer said the group was at a Walmart on Sunday, with Hickory Police Department used on signs and mentioned verbally to solicit donations.
Greeson responded, “At my request, I act solely as a spokesperson for the Zahra Fund. I do not have access to financial records, nor do I handle money or accounting.
“My concern, like many in our community, is for little Zahra. I will not allow those who desire to throw stones to affect the commitment of my walk with the Lord or the things that He has called me to do. I strive — today — to live my life above reproach and fully transparent to those to whom I am accountable.”
They might be accessing medical records to see if there is any history of abuse. Medical staff are mandatory reporters of child abuse and neglect and have an eagle eye for it when a child is admitted to hospital.
That Reverend is soooooo busted. hahahahahahaha. God told me, yeh yeh tell it to the judge.
i think more likely is that they want a DNA sample from the bio-mom. she wouldn't have medical and dental records since reports say she never saw Zahra after age 8 months.

The Hickory. N.C., police department today released a portion of the two 911 calls that Adam and Elisa Baker made, around the time their 10-year-old daughter, Zahra Baker, was reported missing.
WSOC TV in Charlotte obtained the tapes of the calls. On Oct. 9, the day Zahra disappeared, her stepmother, Elisa Baker, reported a fire in the back of the family's home in Hickory.
"My husband works for a tree maintenance company and our backyard is on fire. ... We've got big mulch piles and wood piles ... firewood and stuff," Elisa Baker told the 911 operator.
Police told WSOC TV that they now believe the fire had been set deliberately, but no one has been charged in connection with the incident.
Adam Baker, 33, made a second 911 call on Oct. 10 to report his daughter was missing, police said. Baker told the Associated Press on Friday that he is still not sure that his wife, a prime suspect in the case, was involved in the girl's disappearance, adding that he just wants to find Zahra and take her back to his family's native Australia.

and when adam called to report Zahra missing, he said to dispatch "hey how you doing". HUH?? his daughter has been kidnapped! where is the panic or emotion??

If you want to see what they are really capable of doing, there's a Facebook page aimed towards discrediting CVBH mental health provider. They went there, stuck cameras in the faces of the mentally ill and then called names. The patients there were traumatized. All this because this agency terminated their employment. That's no surprise. These idiots are vengeful and dangerous. HPD should have dealt with them then.

I looked up the site on FB. And if you look at the pictures, there's Mr. Greeson. It is listed under Catawba Valley Behavioral Healthcare . This group should be ran out of the county.

While the article is not available on this site apparently, about two weeks ago this publication printed an article publicizing this organization making claims to the "certification" of it's employees. My assumption is the lack of investigative journalism could be attributed to the "religious" nature of this group. NONE of these individuals possess the neccesary "certifications" to offer counseling. Be it Christian Counseling or secular...the title requires a Masters degree from an ACCREDITED university and the commensurate licensure. ie: LPC, LCSW, LPA, PhD, NCC, LPA. And incidently those degrees are not available online in a year. Please do not support this organization or it's members, they are charlatans. Shame on HDR for poor reporting. As a publication they have enabled the SPN to gain hold and unduly influence our community.

Tbe "REV" is on supervised probation. in Catawba County. Does the PO know he's back to soliciting funds, asking for peoples credit/debit cards when that was the source of his latest charges and conviction? That's public record. Seems he was running an internet site selling "God only knows". People used their cards and guess what? He raked up thousands at others expense.....

To suspicious - you can throw stones all you want. Jesus said let him who is without sin cast the first stone. My heart and motives are pure and I forgive you for the judgment you cast against me - someone you don't even know.
Richard Gould's motives today was to make me look like a villain and further throw a punch to the efforts of the ministry. He excluded every piece of information related to my walk with the Lord - including my conversion experience.
I freely admit that I was in the wrong place at the wrong time. I stand before you and before God, with all sincerity. I did not do what I was accused of doing. I am paying the penalty now, of being affiliated with sin. It's a consequence of being out of the will of God and living for myself rather than for Christ.
Since these charges, I have given my heart and life to God. I have devoted my life to the Lord - to being salt and light to the world. I strive to be in His perfect will and I get up every morning to work for Him. If dedicating myself and my life to serving God.. and working for Him is wrong - then please, take those handfuls of stones and stone me.
But let me remind you of 3 people in the Bible.. who God used:
1) A studdering murder who led God's people out of Egypt - Moses.
2) An adulterer & murder, who was anointed king of Israel... a man after God's own heart - David.
3) A man who persecuted & murdered Christians, who wrote Romans 8:1 (There is therefore no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh but after the spirit.) - Saul (until he me Christ and became Paul)

who "takes the "RAP" for something they did NOT do? what are the actual FACTS of the case? WHY was he charged? the DA didn't pull the charges out of the air/and or simply make them up to be malicious. and that was not greesons's first experience with criminal justice. just the first felony where he was caught. lawyers don't tell innocent martyrs to plead guilty to felonies unless they are certain the client would be convicted if it went to trial. it was a plea deal, simple. i plea guilty, i stay out of the county bed and breakfast.
so now we are stone-throwing sinners and greeson is a martyr.
collecting funds for a funeral is a bit premature.
funds are not required to pray for Zahra on Oct. 24.
