I know this isn't directed at me but I think it's a great question.

No, I wouldn't die for someone's kid. No fuckin' way. I wouldn't risk my life for any of the ingrates that inhabit our country either, it's enough that they get some of my tax dollars. I am an entirely selfish human being who wouldn't risk myself for strangers.

I don't think it's chickenshit not to want to be a soldier (not everyone is cut out for it) but thank you baby Jesus that we have (and I'm talking now and historically) men and women who are willing to put their own lives on the line for our country.

If I saw a kid wandering out on a road with a truck heading towards them, I think instinct would force me to run out and try to grab the kid if I thought there was even the slightest chance I could save them. I've done some pretty stupid stuff trying to save small animals--I'm sure I would react to help save a kid.

I would run into a burning barn to save my horses. I was reduced to tears because I ran over {with the mower} one of the frogs that resided in my garden pond. I feel more for the animals than I do most people.

I don't think I could stand by and watch any child harmed. Except maybe that 13 year old that was throwing rocks at cars. He needed a beat down (the bullet may have been a little harsh...).

I guess because I have a personal interest in war at the moment, I am seeing things differently. It's a good thing for me. I don't want to stagnate in my old ideals. The people I have come in contact with never mention oil or politics. Only we do that.

I have received one letter so far from over there. I was asked to send any small stuffed animals we don't want around here. Not for dry humping, MF, but for the kids over there who don't have any toys. It reminded me that we aren't the only people in world. I am sending out stuffies in the next package. And smokes. And candy.

I don't want to see innocents harmed & I can't imagine I would stand idly by & watch someone hurt a child but I'm more apt to risk something for an animal than I would be for a human. If all people were good, gentle & sincere souls I might have a different answer but so many people suck at be human anymore that I'm not prepared to say I would risk something for the average person.

I call bullshit. If you heard an innocent child/toddler crying in a burning building you'd be in there faster than greased lightning. Children are innocent--it's parents/circumstances that fuck them up.

The worst part is I would probably save your sorry ass just so I could kill you with my bare hands.

I have done worse things in my life and I can only blame it on not living in the city where people would walk around a bleeding granny on the sidewalk. Some people become immune to it. I never did get to that point, and I'm kinda glad. I would probably be killed within 4 hrs in any major city if I was just walking around.
