i have no idea how this bastard overcame 2 deputies.
(CNN) -- A manhunt was under way Sunday for an Oklahoma jail inmate who overpowered two deputies and stole one deputy's car in escaping from custody, authorities said.
Shaun Bosse, 27, is charged with three counts of first-degree murder and one count of arson. He is accused of killing Katrina Griffin, 24, and her two children -- Christian, 8, and Chastity, 6 -- on July 23, according to CNN affiliate KOCO.
Bosse stole a black 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix in his escape, said McClain County Undersheriff Bill Shobe. The car, which was newly purchased, has a paper tag, he said.
The car was last seen going northbound out of Purcell, Oklahoma, at about 10:25 a.m. (11:25 a.m. ET), Shobe said.
"In fact, I passed the vehicle before knowing about the escape," Shobe said. "I was on my way to church and remember seeing the vehicle, but they didn't call me until later."
As of Sunday, six deputies were searching for Bosse, and an aircraft was to be used in an aerial search, Shobe said. A "be on the lookout" bulletin was issued.
The bodies of Griffin and her two children were found in a mobile home that had caught fire, according to KOCO. Authorities said she died from eight stab wounds, and Christian had been stabbed five times, while Chastity died in the fire, KOCO said.
According to court documents, Bosse told investigators that he and Griffin had been dating for about two weeks, KOCO said.
Bosse is described as being about 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing about 215 pounds, with brown hair and green eyes.
PURCELL, Okla. -- McClain County deputies said a man facing murder charges held a deputy hostage in his cell and escaped from the McClain County Jail early Sunday.
Shaun Bosse is awaiting trial in the deaths of a Dibble woman and her two young children in 2010. Their bodies were recovered from a mobile home that had been set on fire.
Investigators said Bosse stole another deputy's keys and fled north on Interstate 35 in that deputy's car, a black 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix.
corrections Officers cannot become complacent around inmates. especially those with nothing to lose. HOSTAGE is your worst nightmare scenario if you work corrections.
the citizens of the area have been advised to lock their doors. duh.

Shaun Michael Bosse, 28, overpowered a guard about 10 a.m. at the jail, took him hostage and handcuffed him inside his cell, a McClain County sheriff's official said. Jailers don't think Bosse had a weapon on him when he escaped soon thereafter, but they consider him armed and extremely dangerous.
Bosse sped away from the jail in a black 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix with a paper tag reading 06/08/11, the sheriff's official said. The car had about three-quarters of a tank of gas.
The McClain County jail is in Purcell about a 36-mile drive south from downtown Oklahoma City. Bosse was living in Oklahoma City when he was arrested last July after the bodies of Katrina Griffin, 25, her son Christian Griffin, 8, and daughter Chasity Hammer, 6, were found in their burned-out Dibble-area mobile home.
Bosse has also lived in Blanchard.
Bosse is charged in McClain County District Court with three counts of first-degree murder and one count of first-degree arson in the deaths.
Bosse was wearing black shorts with a white T-shirt when he was last seen, the sheriff's official said. He is white, is about 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighs about 180 pounds and has green eyes.
Authorities ask anyone who sees him to call 911.
Suspect dated victim
Griffin and Bosse dated for a couple of weeks before the killings, but Griffin's relatives have said they knew little of Bosse or about the relationship.
Police had been called to Griffin's home late July 22, the night of the killings, and Bosse was there, but the nature of the call was unclear. An officer took a report and left.
Officials on July 23 found Griffin's body in a bedroom with stab wounds to her abdomen, and her son's body was near her with a stab wound to his neck. Her daughter died of fire-related injuries.
When he was arrested July 24, Bosse had pawn tickets in his wallet for electronics that belonged to Griffin. Investigators reported he pawned the items after the killings.
Other evidence against Bosse outlined by investigators in court documents includes Bosse's fingerprints on the pawned items, indications of blood on his jeans, shoes and a towel at his apartment, and a bloody footprint under a pile of burn debris at the apartment.
Investigators reported the debris had been burned to destroy evidence. Bosse had a long scratch on one arm and swollen knuckles when he was arrested.
Bosse has other legal troubles
Bosse was out of jail on bail on two pending felony cases against him in other Oklahoma courts at the time of the killings, court records show. One is a January 2009 second-degree burglary charge from Cleveland County and the other is a Custer County case on two counts of second-degree forgery and one count of larceny of gasoline.
He also faces a pending Oklahoma County case from August on a count of concealing stolen property, court records show.
In the Cleveland County case, investigators reported Bosse admitted to breaking into an acquaintance's home and stealing his golf clubs, a pair of binoculars and a Rolex watch. He pawned the golf clubs and binoculars, but expressed remorse to detectives after he was caught and said he planned to give the Rolex back. Bosse told investigators he needed the money to buy gas to look for jobs.
i'm glad this guy is back in custody!
he's looking at death row, and a danger to everyone, they obviously need to keep him in maximum security.
A murder suspect who broke out of jail over the weekend was captured Sunday, hidden among high weeds at a pond near where he grew up, said McClain County, Oklahoma, Sheriff Don Hewett.
Squads of sheriff's deputies and state troopers had mounted house-to-house searches around Blanchard, Oklahoma, looking for 27-year-old Shaun Bosse.
another BOLO, but have no suspect description yet.

Pennsylvania authorities are on a manhunt for a killer who shot five people at a rural Douglass Township home Saturday night, leaving a Fall River toddler and a Yarmouth man dead and critically injuring three others.
Gregory Erdmann, 2, of Fall River and Joseph Shay, 43, of Yarmouth and New York City were both shot in the head and killed, said Montgomery County First Assistant District Attorney Kevin R. Steele in a statement.
Three other victims — Gregory’s mother, Kathryn Erdmann, 37, and the home-owners, Paul Shay, 64, and Monica Shay, 58, both of New York City — were hospitalized in critical condition, Steele said.
The killings occurred at 50 Renninger Road in Bechtelsville, about 50 miles northwest of Philadelphia.
Neighbor Kathy Landis, 51 — who lives about a tenth of a mile from the murder scene — told the Herald there are only seven houses on their dirt road.
“We’ve owned property here for 30 years and we have never had one problem in 30 years,” said Landis in a phone interview.
Paul and Monica Shay had been restoring their property for years, occasionally staying there on weekends, Landis said.
“There’s only two dirt roads in the whole township so we get very little traffic in here whatsoever. The only cars that come in here are from the people who live on the road,” Landis said.
No arrests have been made, and police did not have a description of the shooter, Steele said. None of the surviving victims were able to speak to investigators.
Paul Shay, 64, and Monica Shay, 58, live in New York City, where he owns a plumbing business and his wife is an associate professor at Pratt Institute. She grew up on the property on Renninger Road, a gravel road that yellow police tape blocked off until late Sunday.
Joseph Shay - Paul Shay's nephew - had an extensive criminal record in New York and New Jersey dating to 1992, when he was sentenced in Atlantic County to 10 years in prison for drug dealing. He was released in 1998, state records show.
More recently, he was imprisoned for nearly two years in New York for grand larceny - the theft of $1,000 or more. He was released about a year ago, according to state records.
One acquaintance said Paul Shay had recently confided that his nephew was working for him as part of his rehabilitation.
edit to add:
A man who shot five people in Montgomery County Saturday night was killed by police late Monday morning as the Trainer house he was in was surrounded by police SWAT teams.
At a press conference, Delaware County District Attorney Mike Green and Montgomery County District Attorney Risa Vetri Ferman said the suspect died in the basement. Ferman said the suspect, Mark Geisenheyner, 51, was killed by police.
Authorities said Geisenheyner had a long criminal history in Pennsylvania, Massachusetts and New York. Some of the crimes were related to insurance fraud.
Law enforcement officials said there were multiple negotiations between the suspect and police during the standoff. Geisenheyner was armed with a .45 caliber handgun.

He ended up taking 2 more hostages. He let them go and killed himself within the past half hour. I'm on my phone right now and can't find a link, sorry.
GRAND RAPIDS -- Mass murder suspect Rodrick Dantzler shot himself in the head and died at the scene of the hours-long standoff around 11:30 p.m. Thursday, said Grand Rapids Police Chief Kevin Belk.
Two remaining hostages escaped the home where they were being held in Northeast Grand Rapids.
Grand Rapids Police Chief Kevin Belk said Dantzler had been making threats and acting agitated throughout the night. He briefly calmed down and suggested he might give himself up. But as negotiators were telling him how to surrender from outside, a gunshot was heard.
Authorities and an ambulance rushed in, but Dantzler was pronounced dead at the scene from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
"This is obviously a very, very difficult day for a lot of people," Belk said.
Tactical officers were inside the house when Dantzler indicated he wanted to surrender. The hostages, Steve Helderman, 70, and a visiting woman were being held in the rear of the house when officers slipped inside.
The woman hid in a bedroom early in the ordeal, but the suspect eventually realized she was there.
Police did have contact the hostages during the standoff and knew they were OK, Belk said. After they escaped, they were checked over and it was recommended they go to the hospital, but they suffered no apparent injuries other than traumatization.
An autopsy will occur tomorrow and police will continue their investigation. Belk expects to offer a late-morning update Friday.
Police investigation so far indicates Dantzler acted alone in Thursday's mass murder. One of the victims was his daughter, another was an ex-girlfriend. Other victims' relationships were not immediately confirmed.
Dantzler was accompanied by a person during a road rage incident on Grandville Avenue during which shots were fired, but police remain confident he acted alone in today's slayings.
"We are very confident he is the suspect," Belk said.
State police are hunting for a 23-year-old man with swastika tattoos wanted in New York for three early morning murders.
Police said they activated the amber security alert at around 2 p.m. today.
Police say the suspect, Matthew Slocum, has taken his girlfriend and 4-month-old son and is traveling with them in Massachusetts or New Hampshire against their will. There has been a “potential sighting” of the car in Gilsum, N.H. Authorities are responding to the location and asking people in that area to pay attention to the vehicle description that has been released, according to state police spokesman Dave Procopio.
Slocum is wanted in connection with three deaths in a house fire in Eagle Bridge, N.Y., police said.
The suspect may be travelling in a black 2003 Ford Mustang, with two doors, and bearing NY registration DED1769.
UPDATE: State police just released further descriptions:
LORETTA COLEGROVE, 5’8” tall, 194 lbs., with long straight reddish brown hair, typically worn pulled back with a white or light blue scrunchie. She was last seen wearing a light blue tank top with thin straps, blue jean shorts and flip flops.
MATTHEW SLOCUM, 5’11 to 6’ approximately, 195 lbs, brown hair, with swatstika tattoos on his arms. He was last seen wearing a black t-shirt with a skull and cross bones. The skull image has a red bandana.
he is recently released felon and suspect in these murders:
WHITE CREEK NY -- Three people died in a suspicious early morning house fire in White Creek on Wednesday, and police were seeking a local felon as a person of interest in the case, authorities said.
The victims were identified as a husband and wife, and the husband's adult son, officials said.
Police would not say how they died, and would not comment on reports from neighbors that investigators questioned them about whether they heard gunshots before the fire was spotted.
Police were withholding the names of the victims until autopsies were performed later Wednesday, but said they were believed to be residents of the home.
However, White Creek Town Supervisor Bob Shay said that the victims included Dan Harrington, deputy town highway superintendent, and his wife, Lisa. Harrington's young adult son was the third apparent victim, but his name was not released. (THAT WAS HIS MOTHER)
Shay said he met with highway workers on Wednesday to tell them of the news and discuss the department's operations. Both Harrington and his wife served on the town Recreation Commission, Shay said.
"They were good people. Dan was a real good employee," Shay said. "We all feel horrible. It's just so sad."
The man who police are seeking for questioning is Matthew A. Slocum, 24, the son of the woman who died in the fire, police said. He was believed to have fled the area early Wednesday, before the fire was spotted.
Slocum is a felon who served a prison sentence for grand larceny between 2006 and 2010 and who acquaintances said has a history of mental illness, authorities said.
Police said Slocum, his girlfriend, Loretta Colegrove, and their 4-month-old son, Raymond, fled the area driving a black Ford Mustang with New York license plate DED1769.
Police would not identify Slocum as a suspect but said he is a "person of interest."
"They may be able to give some clues about this fire," Washington County Sheriff Roger Leclaire said of the occupants of the Mustang. "At this point we're not saying that (whether Slocum is a suspect) but we want to talk to the occupants of that vehicle about this fire."
Authorities said the three visited the girlfriend's mother's home in Adams, Mass., around 5 a.m. Wednesday, but left a short time later and had not been seen since. Police were investigating a possible sighting in a wooded area of southwest New Hampshire late Wednesday afternoon as well.
Colegrove's stepfather, James Sicotte of Adams, Mass., said Wednesday afternoon that police had asked them not to discuss the visit.
"All I can say is that we'd like to have Loretta and the baby returned safely," he said.
The couple had been together about a year, he said.
Washington County Undersheriff Matt Mabb said authorities planned to issue an Amber Alert later Wednesday to notify motorists and others to be on the lookout for the baby.
An Amber Alert is a procedure for rapidly publicizing the disappearance of a child. It had been issued in New York and Massachusetts.
The cause of the fire was labeled suspicious, and the State Police Major Crimes Unit and forensic technicians were dispatched to the fire scene, officials said.
Leclaire would not discuss the fire's cause or comment on the police questions to neighbors about gunshots.
Police went door-to-door on Wednesday morning to ask neighbors if they had heard gunshots before the fire. Guns that had been in the home were unaccounted for, police said.
The fire, which was "fully involved" upon firefighters' arrival, leveled about two-thirds of the house at 118 Turnpike Road in the hamlet of Eagle Bridge.
The fire was reported at 4:09 a.m.
Police said they believed five or six people were living in the house at the time of the fire, including the Harringtons and Slocum.
The Washington County Sheriff's Office, State Police and state Bureau of Fire are investigating.
More details will be posted as they become available.

GILSUM – Police have blockaded the downtown area of Gilsum after finding a car used by a man targeted in several Amber alerts, according to eyewitnesses.
Police agencies in four states spent most of Wednesday searching for Matthew Slocum, 23, who allegedly kidnapped his 4-month-old son, Raymond, and the boy’s mother, Loretta Colegrove, after a deadly house fire in White Creek, N.Y., about 4 a.m. Wednesday.
New York State Police Investigator Mary Beth Horne confirmed the 2003 black Ford Mustang Matthew Slocum used to drive from White Creek, N.Y., to North Adams, Mass., where he was spotted at 5 a.m. Wednesday, was found in Gilsum Wednesday evening.
“It has been found (in Gilsum). Yes,” Horne said. “They haven’t found the parties yet, though.”
Nate Dragoon said a police officer at a blockade told him they were trying to “extract an individual” when Dragoon tried to get to his Alstead Hill Road home.
“They’d blocked it off and I had to go around to the other side of the road to get home,” he said. Police “were pretty tight-lipped. They weren’t saying much.”
Robin Oke, who lives on Mack Road, said police officers from several agencies had blanketed the small town.
“There’s pretty much an officer at every corner,” he said. “There’s quite a police presence in Gilsum right now.”
