Daughter Bound To Grand Jury In Father's Murder

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. - Rebecca Hart, accused of murdering her father, had a preliminary hearing Thursday, and the judge bound the 18-year-old's case to the grand jury.

Last week, Clarksville police found 50-year-old Gilbert Hart shot to death inside his home.

Less than 24 hours later, police arrested the victim's daughter, Rebecca Hart; the victim's 17-year-old son, Alexander Hart; and 15-year-old, J.P. George, for the murder.

When 50-year-old Gilbert "Gib" Hart, a local businessman, was found executed inside his Allensdale Drive home in June 2009, the arrest of his two teen children and a teenage boy left the community in disbelief.

The case, which involves what prosecutors call a complex murder-for-hire scheme, took another twist late Friday, when Gilbert Hart's widow, Rebecca Francis Hart, 42, was arrested and accused of soliciting her children and others to kill Gilbert Hart.
