ok JVM on nancy grace covering this. the mom is married, to the other criminal in an earlier post (#18). he went to work early. mom said she drove around for 2 hours looking for child before calling police. how the hell far do they think baby went?
mom is pregnant, she hasn't been polygraphed.
whole story stinks.

reminds me a lot of Haleigh Cummings.

polygraph tests have been administered, though Lewis Co. Sheriff Lt. Parks would not say to who.

"We are interviewing everybody," he added, noting that no one has been identified even as a "person of interest." "Everybody is a suspect right now."

I want to know what was really going on in that house the night before and possibly into the early morning.

Seriously, who drives around for 2 hours looking for a toddler? Then, she runs out of gas. Finally, calls LE. Mom was either in an altered state or she or someone she knows did something to Aliayah, imo. I think a stranger abduction from the home is highly unlikely...

Presser at 4:00 and there is a major street in town blocked off for some unknown reason. I wonder if the two are connected?

Here is another FB page where some local people are commenting.

An update for those that were unable to watch the news conference... There are no new leads or information as to where Aliayah is. They did not show her picture, information, etc during the conference. There were 2 officers who answered questions from 1 WDTV reporter only. Again, no new information to report at all.

*The above was just posted on the facebook link for Lewis Co.

"any suspects? not that we're willing to discuss".

There isn't a spark of intelligence in those eyes, either one of them.

I hate it when ignorant people have kids. What kind of life is it being raised by idiots?

I hope they find her alive, but I'm not too hopeful about it. Stupid people think they can get away with stuff because they don't understand that other people aren't as stupid as they are.

The Lewis County Sheriff's Department searched Stonewall Jackson Lake Tuesday for clues.
ROANOKE -- Pamela Smith and Nancy Pugh have been waiting for this day.
For eight years they have had nothing but questions about the disappearance of their relatives, Maxine Stalnaker and Mary Friend.

Tuesday, Smith and Pugh said they hoped to get some answers.

Stalnaker and Friend vanished in December 1999. Five days after they disappeared, one of the women's cars turned up abandoned in Harrison County.

In 2002, some men were fishing here near Skin Creek bridge when they came across the purse of one of the missing women.

Deputies dove into the lake and didn't find anything. After that, the trail went cold, and the investigation has been inactive for five years — until now.

"It means a great deal," Smith said. "It's overwhelming that possibly they might be able to find something."

On Tuesday morning, the Lewis County Sheriff's Department scoured the waters of the Stonewall Jackson Lake.

The two crews went looking for any clues that could lead them to Stalnaker and Friend.

Sheriff Michael Gissy said this search could be different.

Equipped with Video Ray technology, the sonar tools can map the bed of the lake and act as another set of underwater eyes.

"If there's anything in the water we'll find it," said Chris Gibson, Video Ray owner. "If not, they can move on with the investigation."

That is why authorities are combing the area once again. "Our hope is to find proof and evidence that our missing women are here," Gissy said.

As of noon Tuesday, the crews had located 10 spots of interest under water but had not found anything they considered evidence.

Gissy said his department has a person or persons of interest in this case.

mother and daughter, never found.
