INTERNET BLACKLIST BILL
#1

This bill could shut down YouTube, Twitter and many other social websites that bring together the Occupy movements across the nation and world---any user-generated content site where the law can make the sites’ owners legally responsible for the posted content of its users.

all of my posts are under copywrite.

I own them.

It's only a matter of time before the people of this country are restricted from organizing in any significant way, it's a protective reaction from a government that believes it is under attack, and it is.

This type of thing will not reduce the attack but it will make it more difficult, the last thing they want is for the people to organize in such a way as to make the voting blocks and divisions that they have created dissappear and the people re take the power that is inherent in great numbers of people all seeking the same thing.

The law will be challenged in the supreme court on Constitutional merit.

This bothers me a great deal. If this becomes law it will have tremendous repercussions worldwide. Ugh. I need to find out as much as I can about it & maybe that will help me to feel better about it's chances of passing. Do you think the high courts would allow that to happen?

The high courts, yes they would allow it or could allow it.

at least the way the court is now it could happen.

The problem in bills like this is that they are passed under the guise of protection from the loss of revenue for a certian group of people, it is put forth as a way to curb copyright infringement but the collateral damage to others is disregarded and thus the country becomes less free.

bills like this which seem innocuous on the surface and seem to protect intellectual property from being used without compensation in fact takes a little bit of the first amendment and trashes it, everyone loses freedom.

I don't want to be responsible for people to quite that extent.

Bush started this ball rolling with the Patriot act, this is just a continuation of these curbs on freedom.

You're a fucking moron, this bill originated in the senate.

The senate is democrat controlled.

The President in this country does not write bills or introduce them to congress.

The patriot act was passed by both republicans and democrats

actually shit for brains, 911 started the ball rolling.

Bush didn't write the patriot act, like I already told you the President doesn't write law in this country.

The patriot act was passed by both parties.

Obama had nothing to do with the bill that is being dicussed here either, although I don't see him vetoing it.

The senate dems passed it out of the senate and the house republicans passed it out without amending it.

It will be challenged it remains to be seen if those challenges are upheld or if the USSC follows along with it.

Actually bubblehead 911 was the excuse Bush and his neo-con lunatics needed to start the "plan for the new American century" which was written way before 911 dipshit.
