I'm telling you, if our country had 'special' consequences for these types of crimes, I do believe that the numbers would be reduced.

I'd love to see the perp in this case condemned to being eaten by wild animals. After all, he IS one.

It'd be simple. You choose to rape and murder a defenseless child, and you'll receive the same fate. Not 3 squares with Cable TV in a cell for the rest of your life.

I seriously wish that something like this could be done. Reading this story made my feel physically ill. Her terror and pain... and nobody able to do anything for her.

Why doesn't a family member in any of these cases try and kill these monsters?? If it were my daughter, I'd sure as hell try....

This is about a 20 min drive from my home. I found out about it today on Mock! There wasn't alot of coverage on this to begin with. This question may have been answered already but why didn't they issue an Amber Alert?

I checked and there is a sex offender in that complex.

specific criteria are needed for an Amber Alert. in GA. it's a Levi's Call. you need a description of an abductor or a vehicle, some info to notify the public.

Why would they ONLY notify the public if they KNOW it was an abduction? Couldn't they just give a pic and description of the child. If it were my child I would want every kind of alert possible if she went missing! Amber, Levi, news outlet, Radio anyone that would listen. Is it just me that thinks that is kind of rediculous. Maybe if an alert would have went across every television screen and radio in that complex she might still be alive. J/S

presser this morning. GBI believes the murderer is a resident of the apt. complex.
they have interviewed the RSOs. they have checked out so far.
they think they have found blood in an empty apt. and sent it to lab to confirm.
COD was blunt force trauma to the head.
she was also stabbed and sexually assaulted.
there were other injuries that will not be described today. :( bad.
there will be DNA.

poor baby was likely raped and murdered within less than 2 hours after being grabbed. that's not surprising. usually the beasts want to get off and then get rid of child fast. so dumpster was handiest way to do that.

This breaks my heart. Only 7 years old. This shit is getting out of hand. I agree these perps should suffer the most dire consequences. Let them loose in the general pop of the worst prison in this country. Make sure all the inmates know exactly why he is in there and let them take care of the loser.

Aside from the fact that this crime makes me really angry and just plain sick, I have a question.

LC, Do you know why LE would label this as a "calculated and planned crime" aside from something they might have found in the vacant apartment? I would love to hear your thoughts, based on your expertise.

i suspect they have reason to believe he lay in wait for an opportunity. that he stalked her (or other little girls) in the complex just waiting for his chance. and he had access to an empty apt. there. further, she was found in a compacting dumpster, which requires a key to open. so in my opinion they are looking at possibly a maintenance person.

at the very least i feel they think he stalked her. and waited. evil. and stupid. he will be apprehended. i hope he's scared shitless.

caveat, obviously i am not inside the investigation and i am guessing.

edit to add: i hear a bloody mattress was found in the empty apt. if so, that indicates prior planning.
