I have a cousin, who went to South Africa, as part of a humanitarian effort to provide medical services. Part of their "responsibility" was to provide free condoms and convince the men to use them.

My cousin said when they first got there, they touted the condoms as a way to prevent unwanted pregnancy. None of the south African men would take them or use them. Not being able to reproduce is like a curse to them.

Then they (the humanitarian group) switched tactics, and told the men that the condoms would prevent the spread of Aids-The south African men took the condoms.

So, they take them when they think it's saving them from Aids, but not when they think it will prevent a pregnancy-go figure.
