Crash, you better make sure you ask your doctor for pain relief. Ask for panadeine forte/or mersyndol forte. He will gladly give you that under those circumstances. If it is inflamed you may also need naproxen, powerful anti-inflammatory that works similar to ibuprofen. You can take them at the same time as the opiates. If you have forgotten to ask your doctor you can ring the surgery and get the doctor to write a prescription for you.

It's alright, skip, just got some antibiotics. No pain today. Off to the podiatrist next week to get the sucker torn off I think.

You'll need a 'patient controlled analgesia' (PCA) machine when it gets 'torn' off.

I'm sure I'll survive with a beer and an aspirin. If worse comes to worse there's a bottle OP in the back of the pantry somewhere.

For removal of an ingrown toenail? You'd think the dude was going through child birth.

Not really Ramsey. It was a joke, especially with such graphic description. PCA's are usually given to cancer patients or post operative patients. Here's the wikilink on it. The patient pushes the button and out comes the drug. Ramsey's enquiring mind

I know what it is Aussie. I had one when I was in labor with Thing 1. It didn't work that well though.
Men are babies. They should just put him under to fix the toe.

I wish they had put me under when I had my baby. It would have been nice to be under general anaesthesia and wake up and there is the baby. Where was 'Dr.' Conrad Murray when you need him?

Ha! With him, you might not have woken up.

Jesus Christ. I think I'll just go score an 8 ball and be done with it.

Pfft. It'd only be karma. You can't expect to be this cool, smart, sexy and have a big peen without paying some kind of price in life...
Haha!!
I've never really had a bad one but for minor ones, I've heard (and done this on my kids) that you just trim a V into the center of the nail. I guess it's supposed to let the sides retract or something?
If you haven't already, give it a try Crash. Better than having the damn thing torn off or whatever. Ouch!

yes sally there are side effects with any medication of course. Pain relief is important part of the healing process. The doctor is not going to prescribe these meds if they are not right for him. But that procedure I think, would be extremely painful and would need some intervention. It was something he could flag with his doctor. Many people don't think of these things.

I think he could also use some anti depressants and sleeping pills just in case that sucker doesn't heal up as expected.

Whatever floats your boat. Put him on an IV drip.

I think he has his ingrown toenail under control. Now what to do about my yeast infection is a different story, I think a greek yogurt and a handful of xanax will do the trick.
